NK fires missile over Japan....

As many of you du'ers know, my son (Seth) and grandchildren (Liam and Kai) are in Japan. My greatest fears, hopefully overreacting but fears none the less, have been "something" happening in that region before they get home.....they need to fly from Miyazaki to Tokyo, Tokyo to Seoul and then straight shot to Chicago on Wednesday 8-30....

Can we not wait for retaliatory action until they're home in Wisconsin? Selfish, I know....Nana's tend to think like that, it comes with the territory of having children and grandchildren...

Remembering Stevie Ray Vaughan 10-3-1954/8-27-1990

One of the last (known) photos taken of Stevie Ray on that fateful night 8-26-1990 in/at Alpine Valley East Troy, WI. with Eric Clapton and Robert Cray. My husband and I had just acquired a bar in central WI and were given over 200 free admit tickets by a distributor. Unfortunately, the wknd of this concert was also the wknd of our grand opening, so we were unable to go....regrets to this day, and beyond.....

RIP Stevie Ray.

My Uncle Bob posted this on Facebook...worth the read.

"So, you think Donald Trump is a Republican?

I have stated from the beginning of his campaign that he was running just to take down the Republican party.
He bad-mouths Republicans every bit as bad as Democrats.
Bottom line: He appears to be an Independent or Democrat and I am still just DISGUSTED with him!!!

Here is a history of Trump’s voter registration since 1987:
* JULY 1987: Trump registers for the first time from his Fifth Avenue penthouse.
The real estate developer, 41 at the time, reports having previously been registered from his boyhood home in Queens (though his prior party affiliation is unclear). Trump enrolls as a REPUBLICAN.
* OCTOBER 1999: Trump dumps the GOP and enrolls as a member of the INDEPENDENCE PARTY.
* AUGUST 2001: Trump enrolls as a DEMOCRAT.
* SEPTEMBER 2009: After eight years as a Democrat, Trump returns to the REPUBLICAN PARTY.
* DECEMBER 2011: Trump lasts two years before he again abandons the party of Ronald Reagan. He eschews the GOP in favor of siding with no party. On his registration form, “The Apprentice” star checks off the box marked “I DO NOT WISH TO ENROLL IN A PARTY.”
* APRIL 2012: Trump registers as a REPUBLICAN. -- (Just to run and destroy the party).

He has relieved several die-hard Republicans from his cabinet.
James Comey: Republican-FBI Director 5/9/17 GONE
Michael Dubke: Republican-Communications Director 5/30/17 GONE
Sean Spicer: Republican- White House Press Secretary 7/21/17 GONE
Reince Prebus: Republican (head of Republican Party) White House Chief of Staff 7/28/17 GONE
Anthony Scaramucci: Republican- White House Communications Director 7/31/17 GONE
Steve Bannon: Republican 8/8/17 GONE
Michael Flynn: Republican- National Security Advisor-gone 2/14/17 GONE

Both Limbaugh and Bannon have very recently both stated publicly that those that are left in his cabinet are more Democrat than Republican:
Jared Kushner: (Wikipedia) (Jared Kushner had been a lifelong Democrat, making major donations to its candidates for years)( his father has done prison time for tax evasion) STILL THERE.
Jeff Sessions: Democrat (according to Limbaugh and Bannon)-STILL THERE.

He is a pathological liar, bigot, con, demagogue, fascist, narcissist, chauvinist, rude, hateful, insensitive, brash, bully, dangerous, and an egomaniac. (The problem with egomaniacs is that they can come off as very charming. They have an air about them that can make you, at first, feel very safe, taken care of, and admired. They’re usually very assertive and confident which are, of course, attractive qualities. However, they usually take those qualities too far—they believe they know what’s best for everyone and don’t even ask others what they want. At first, they seem caring, but they very quickly become bossy. Unfortunately, by the time you notice things going wrong, the egomaniac is so attached to you that breaking up with him will set him off. It’s best to avoid egomaniacs altogether but to do that, you have to spot them!). He also is a master at the art of persuasion/manipulation, that is quite evident."

So far....crickets!

Disclaimer: I did not write this, nor do I have the sources. If you can't find the sources, I'm sure he would provide them.

Question: And now where do our allies come into play?

Disclaimer given....I did not watch the speech...my info has been gotten basically by word of mouth.

That being said, if we go all ballistic on Afghanistan and Pakistan, are our allies expected now to help us?

Up for discussion.....

Rec this if you're NOT going to watch trump on tv tonight

Nothing says presidential quite like awkward hand gestures, repetitive unintelligible comments and back talking on Twitter once he's done..... I can't wait to see his tweet regarding what he says he didn't say shortly after he said it on camera...

No Tina Fey, you weren't "funny"

"To my white friends: I posted a reply on someone else's page I should have posted here days ago. The Tina Fey skit is not funny. Please stop sharing it. If it's on your wall, consider taking it down. I have heard people of color say, "don't be surprised if I'm dead within the year," and recount experiences at businesses near my home where white people harassed them and not one white person stood up for them. These are dangerous times. The KKK and white supremacists are marching with hoods off, emboldened by this administration. White people are harassing people of color unchecked in shops in my (and your) community. If you can laugh or catch your breath at the idea of sitting home, eating cake and being 'safe' rather than being visible for the rights and actual safety of people of color, check your privilege. People of color can't sit at home and eat cake. They have to go about their lives: work, shop, drop their kids off at activities, buy a sandwich at a deli. They don't get to take a break from bigotry and hate. Their lack of safety is lived every time they step out of their house, every time they check FaceBook. Every new white person is a potential risk. The white people in their lives are are unsafe for them when we post things like Tina Fey's skit and especially when we say things like, "lighten up, it's just comedy." Stop. Listen to the experiences of people of color and how the current climate is making them feel. Consider that your ability to laugh it off is rooted in your privilege. Resist the urge to explain away white behavior or minimize the feelings and experiences of people of color. If those comments appear on my page, I will delete them. Listen. Witness. Learn. Change. Keep showing up. If you want to talk about this with me, call me. I'm still learning, too."

Remember Liam? Fun in Miyazaki, Japan. 8-2017

Liam's Nana here...Liam and his little brother Kai, are having great adventures while in Japan. Please keep them in your thoughts until they're safely home in Madison
, WI on 8-30......

If you don't know Liam's story, please see my previous ops.

Anyone know how upload photos to du

from my iCloud or collections on my iPad? Photobucket isn't working these days it seems....

Yea, about those statues.....

This should never become a Bi-partisan issue. It's an issue of what's right and what's wrong and what our country stands for. For many of our fellow citizens these statues were a daily reminder of an abominable crime our nation committed and the stand those generals, etc. took on that crime. Period!

It would have been a beautiful sight to see

all our past presidents and secret service at Heather's service today, as a stand of solidarity!

RIP fierce warrior woman! We will continue the fight in your name....
