Remembering Stevie Ray Vaughan 10-3-1954/8-27-1990

Last edited Sat Aug 26, 2017, 01:10 PM - Edit history (1)

One of the last (known) photos taken of Stevie Ray on that fateful night 8-26-1990 in/at Alpine Valley East Troy, WI. with Eric Clapton and Robert Cray. My husband and I had just acquired a bar in central WI and were given over 200 free admit tickets by a distributor. Unfortunately, the wknd of this concert was also the wknd of our grand opening, so we were unable to go....regrets to this day, and beyond.....

RIP Stevie Ray.

There were four helicopters to take the bands to Chicago. Stevie took the last seat in the first helicopter with three members of Clapton's crew. Shortly after take off, the pilot hit a ski slope at a high rate of speed.

It was truly a heartbreaking day for so many fans. We thank fate that Eric wasn't in a hurry to get back..

his son Conor died tragically in New York...at the tender age of 4 1/2....

Eric's had more than his fair share of "blues creating" events during his lifetime....

Miss him so much saw him live in concert 4 times before he died. A friend of mine was at his final concert, I was supposed to be there with her but was ill. I need to take out one of his records today and play it in his memory.
