Trump is telling his people that he cannot be fairly judged by a jury of his peers.

By "peers", it means he is equal to everyone else, in the eyes of the law.

And we cannot operate as a society or a democracy without rules of law. It is as simple as that. We cannot make exceptions for the wealthy and powerful.

In the end, after all his inciteful rhetoric and anti-American sloganeering and political attacks, he will sit in front of a jury of his peers and they will judge whether or not he is telling the truth or whether he has committed crimes against the people of this country.

He can whine and cry and blame and lie, but the day is coming.

The "boxes" are not important.

It is what is inside the "boxes" that is important.

Trump calls it the "Boxes Hoax". Indeed, by reducing it to simple "boxes", it is a "hoax". But the "hoax" is by Trump.

Trump calls the DOJ the "Dept of Injustice". By minimizing their duty to justice and the law, he is telling his supporters that it is OK if he disregards a subpoena. The documents belong to him - not the people of this country. He is right and the government is wrong.

He is a serial liar and has been one for his entire life. He has mastered the art of lies and propaganda. It was not that long ago that he was telling his people that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, even though there was a birth announcement in Hawaii newspaper and a birth certificate. Still, many of his supporters believed him. He only doubles down on his lies. He never admits to them.

He has divided this nation into partisan camps. Henry Clay may have been the Great Compromiser but Donald Trump is the Great Divider.

So long as Trump is permitted to spew his lies, propaganda, and inciteful rhetoric...

...it will be difficult for him to get a "fair" trial in Florida.

By "fair", I mean that he will be able to distort the facts and confuse the issues to a point where it will be very difficult for a jury to come to a "fair" decision?

What is a "fair" decision? It would be one that only looks at the facts and evidence and does not listen to the propagandists or the cult leaders. They are able to put the two in separate compartments.

Should the DOJ play hardball with this scofflaw? Or would it just backfire and make him more popular with his supporters? Or are they bringing a knife to a gunfight?

I doubt that the Judge assigned to the case has the intellect or the integrity to handle this case the way it should be handled.

But they will go to trial with the jury that they have.

Who are you going to believe? Donald Trump or your own lying eyes?

Donald Trump is a serial liar. He just picked the date of January 6th out of a hat. It was only a coincidence.

He is at war with the truth, and now, he is at war with the US Dept of Justice. Why does it matter?

He defied a subpoena. He lied to the FBI. He hid national security documents from the government, threatening the lives of every American, but especially, our troops and our allies overseas.

He said the "boxes" were secure. He lied.

He is at war with the DOJ and the FBI. He calls them the Dept of Injustice. Why? Because they are attempting to hold him accountable for stealing national defense secrets. He said they were his "personal" items. He lied.

He admits nothing. He says he is an innocent man. He has done nothing wrong. The evidence says otherwise. He lied.

He lies like he breathes.

He is a threat to our national security. He is a threat to our institutions. He is a threat to our democracy.

He is at war with the people that choose democracy over fascism. The facts are there for people to see.

But they have to look.

In paragraph #55, pages 21/22 of the Indictment, it discusses Trump talking about Hillary Clinton??

"as memorialized by Attorney 1:"

Could anyone interpret it? Was he talking about himself or Roger Stone or someone else?

(snip)
"While meeting with Trump Attorney 1 and Trump Attorney 2 on May 23, TRUMP,
in sum and substance, told the following story, as memorialized by Trump Attorney 1:
[Attorney], he was great, he did a great job. You know what? He
said, he said that it – that it was him. That he was the one who
deleted all of her emails, the 30,000 emails, because they basically
dealt with her scheduling and her going to the gym and her having
beauty appointments. And he was great. And he, so she didn’t get
in any trouble because he said that he was the one who deleted them."

"TRUMP related the story more than once that day."

He said he would hire "only the best" people.

Yeah, right!

He hired only people that would never criticize him. He hired only people that would stroke his ego.

He hired people that would look away when suspicious activities were going on.

He hired people that would help him commit crimes.

He hired people that would help him at the detriment of our country.

He hired people that would keep their mouths shut.

He hired only the best.

It is a shame and a disgrace.

Were 50 boxes moved to Bedminster Golf Club?

Someone had posted that a "female" Trump, helped to move 50 boxes? They did not say which Trump "female" it was? It could have been Melania, Ivanka, or Lara, (Eric's wife)? I cannot imagine Ivanka or Melania doing very much physical labor?

If they went to Bedminster, were any of them loaded on the Saudi planes after their LIV golf tournament? Or all of them?

We also read that 64 boxes were moved out of the storage room, before his lawyer could search there. Then 34 boxes were returned to the storage room? What happened to the other 30 boxes?

The Intelligence agencies will have to operate under the assumption that all those documents have been compromised. It's like whack-a-mole. No one could follow the movement of all these classified documents.

It's pretty serious, folks.

Should Trump be put in handcuffs at his arraignment?

Just as a possible deterrent for those that are contemplating some sort of lawlessness?

The whole country should be able to see him in handcuffs.

He deserves no special treatment. He is a traitor.

He should be treated like a criminal.

His reckless disregard for the lives of others is disgusting.

No one is above the law AND every one is innocent until proven guilty.

That is the ideal of the American justice system.

Is the problem with our jury system?

Or is the problem with the law?

Everyone is entitled to a jury of their peers. That means we are all equal in the ideals of the Constitution.

If we lose faith in our jury system, then we have lost it all.

Before we are Democrats or Republicans, we are Americans. When someone is charged with a serious crime, they have a right to a jury trial. For any one to be convicted, it has to be with the unanimous vote of the jury. Every one must agree.

Why is that unfair?

There are some Americans who seem to believe that there are some political leaders who are above the law and should never be charged with anything, even if the evidence indicates gross criminal conduct.

Even then, the person charged may be found innocent of all charges by the jury.

Many folks would be unhappy if that were to happen, but that is the way our system works.

We need to just let our system work.
