The timing of the firing of the ICIG tells us a lot about the mind of Donald Trump

What better time to fire someone you despise than in the middle of a pandemic? It shows how Donald Trump does not forget his enemies. He waits for revenge.

It is no small matter to fire the Inspector General who oversees all the departments in the Intelligence Community. It was a daring move. He dared the House and Senate to do anything about it. After all, he has the authority to hire and fire who he wants.

But, this just happened to be the Inspector General who talked with the "whistleblower" and determined that he had information that was credible and "urgent". He sent it to the DNI who was supposed to send it to the Intelligence Committee in the House. Instead, the DNI sent it to the Justice Department, under William Barr, who decided to bury it.

It was then that the IG decided he would inform the Congress about it.

It was he that was fired yesterday by Donald Trump.

Should the House impeach Donald Trump again?

Would it hurt them politically?

Would it just be a waste of time and energy because the Republicans would never convict him anyway?

What would be the purpose? Other than to give the Republicans one more chance to put this country on the right path?

Can we really make it to January of next year with Donald Trump as President?

I ask this as a serious question.

Is the lack of leadership making this crisis more serious?

Are more people dying because of it?

Do Mitch McConnell and the Republicans have blood on their hands because they did not remove this charlatan when they had the chance? Some would argue that they do.

We cannot separate this epidemic from the past 3 years. It has been one continuous shit-show since the ride down the escalator. This is just the culmination of it all up to this point.

For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost,

For the want of a leader, the nation was lost?

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, we must eat. We must work. We must travel. We must come out of the cave and look at the real world.

Tomorrow...we must return to "normal".

But, for today, we must be patient.

We see the shadows dancing on the walls and we know the dangerous enemy waits outside our doors. The real world is very scary.

Sooner or later, people are going to have to return to work. People cannot survive without working. They have bills to pay and children to feed. If they cannot find work, the government will need to create work for them. Our country cannot survive without our people working. It is an immediate necessity.

When they do return, their protections against the coronavirus should be 100% guaranteed, at least as much as humanly possible. They should not be required to put their lives on the line without any protection.

Before they return, all safety precautions should be taken and each and every employer should guarantee total health coverage to any employee, and his family, that might come down with the virus. That should be a right to every American employee. It is a tragedy that it has taken something like this epidemic to open our eyes to the health needs of our country. Workers need to return to work as soon as it is deemed safe to do so. Then, only with the guarantees that they will be protected from this deadly virus.

It is up to the Congress to figure out the best way to accomplish that. In my opinion, their next piece of legislation, when they return from their homes, should be to assist small businesses, with less than 100 employees, in their cost of acquiring insurance for these employees. This should have already been the law. It is unfortunate that it has taken a crisis of this magnitude to come to this realization.

It is clear that in our capitalist system, business cannot survive without its laborers, and labor cannot survive without their jobs. That is the system we have created. We go to war with the workers we have.

Until they do return, the new legislation should provide basic requirements for food and shelter, perhaps in the form of a monthly guaranteed income? The people will need a government that works and a leader that is able to empathize with their situations.

This will be something the Congress needs to address as soon as they return to Washington. Hopefully that will be soon. The workers cannot hold on forever. The reality must change.

At some time, we must emerge from the cave and challenge the shadows that have become our reality.

From our perspective today, the world has changed.

Still working the "us" vs "them" strategy.

Jared Kushner, the Jack of all trades and Master of none, was put in charge of "something else" yesterday. It seems that everytime a huge problem develops, Donald Trump calls on his son-in-law to take charge?

Jared just wanted everyone to know that the equipment bought or created for the coronavirus virus belonged to "them". It was to go into the "Federal stockpile". It was straight from Donald Trump's playbook. It was there for "them" to dole out to their friends, it was not there for all of "us".

That is the way it has been since day one of this presidency. Our country has been divided into "us" vs "them". Now, in the middle of epidemic, they continue to play politics with the lives of the American people.

It is very sad.

It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)

Has anyone seen the FOX ad with several of their hosts advising people that we are all together?

...in this battle with this Corona virus?

I noticed it had Sean Hannity, Bill Hemmer, Martha MacCallum, and several others speaking up and advising people of the seriousness of this virus. A few were not in the ad.

It is too bad that they waited so long to take it seriously. Not only that, they minimized it and joked about it for way too long. Even if they did not take it seriously, they should never have treated such a major story in such a manner. They were irresponsible in a major way. They may have cost a lot of lives with their political shenanigans.

It is good if they are finally touching base with reality. They have done a tremendous amount of damage to our country with their misinformation.
