Tim Scott files with the FEC, gonna run for Pres.
Tim Scott files with the Federal election commission to run for president. Right wingers will be holding their nose and saying good things about the guy. He will be their token that they will cheer the announcement and saying look we are not racist. He checks all the boxes for voting repugnant and is a bible thumper.

The House is stopping the assault weapon bill for the session
Looks like they plan on coming back to it next session.
I wonder if its due to all the cases against AW's that are working thru the courts now, or want to save it so its closer to the November vote. Lots of reasons to sit on it for a little, I dont know if they are good reasons.

Maryland removed the good and substantial reasons for gun carry
Source: Maryland state police
Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a provision in New York law pertaining to handgun permitting that is virtually indistinguishable from Maryland law. In light of the ruling and to ensure compliance with the Constitution, I am directing the Maryland State Police to immediately suspend utilization of the good and substantial reason standard when reviewing applications for Wear and Carry Permits. It would be unconstitutional to continue enforcing this provision in state law. There is no impact on other permitting requirements and protocols.

After the Bruen case at scotus New jersey was the first to fold to gun lovers, then Mass, now Maryland. Maryland dropped the good and substantial requirement for a gun carry permit, it is now a true shall issue state. Sure it has a few hoops to jump thru like classes and finger prints, but now gun lovers will be able to go every where with their beloved guns.
New York and Hawaii are the only hold outs, and New York basically accepted it but added a lot of restrictions.
Can some refute this data, on shootings, I am having trouble.
I was having a discussion with someone about mass shootings. They sent me the below chart with mass shootings by year, it excludes gang violence and armed robberies. It sure seems like a lot less than what I hearing in the news and here and I cant seem to find a breakdown of mass shootings to show this is incorrrect.
its from here. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56509481
