Sal_NV's JournalAn update on my condition and what's going on in my life.
Things are getting better, not as much pain anymore, able to sneeze, cough, yawn without dropping to the floor in pain, so that's a good thing.
Now, on to my Harley, sold it to a friend for $6,000.00 and in the process of buying my dream car, a 1957 Chevy Nomad that's had a frame off restoration, its not stock, it has a modern LS 4 engine with a modern 6 speed manual transmission, Ford 9" Detroit locker rear end, digital gauges, and a whole lot of other modern upgrades but it still retains that 1957 look.
I'm going to take a sabbatical for a few months and concentrate on life.
Everyone, Happy New Years and I'll see you on the flip side.
Just came across this live version of John Fogerty Fortunate Son from 1987.
Never heard this version before and it is a great live performance.
I also noticed its in the Veterans forum as a dedication to the host, Pinboy3niner who has passed on.
Just a quick update on my condition.
First of all, I want to thank all of DU for the compassion and care you all have shown, this is why I am a liberal Democrat, something the R's don't understand or care.
I'm doing ok considering the injury's I sustained, the hospital wrapped tight my chest and my L. ankle is in a walking cast.
As far as the Harley, she's going bye bye, my girlfriend, my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren insists on it and I'm not going to argue with them on this.
Everyone, happy Holidays and and a very good new years eve.
To all my friends on DU,
I laid my Harley down last night, fractured 2 ribs and broke my left ankle, so I'll be off line for a while, in the meantime, everyone keep on keeping on.
Sal in NV signing off.
2 questions for the members of DU,
how many here think that repealing the 2nd Amendment will solve the firearm violence in this country and how many here think that repealing the 2nd Amendment is even possible in this current political climate?
Just curious to see what peoples thoughts are.
I don't know if this video has been ever posted here on DU, but, in my opinion, this has to be one of the best videos
ever recorded by the Eagles.
Love this song by Loggins and Messina.
For those that were there, comments please.
This is a song by Bruce Springsteen that perfectly describes what me and my dad went through when I enlisted in
when I enlisted in the US Army and volunteered for combat duty in Viet Nam.
I do so miss my dad, he was an inspiration in my life.
He told me " Son, you have no idea what combat is like, and he was right.
Kind of an obscure band, but they were great in my view.
Y&T, Winds of Change live.
