She said something about Biden being a rapist. I admit I haven't really been following things as much as I would like these past few weeks, so I asked for some details as to what is being claimed and what sort of evidence has been presented. She immediately got defensive and called me a rape apologist. At this point I wasn't defending anyone, but rather just asking for information. The conversation stopped a little later when I asked if it was possible for Biden to not be guilty and if that is the case, then what steps would he have to take to prove he was innocent.
It seems like people change their thoughts on how these difficult situations should be dealt with depending on if the accused is someone they support or don't support. I don't pretend to know the answer to how to deal with this, but it's really obvious to me when the primary motivation is political rather than an attempt to seek justice. That's whether it's flat out denying all accusations or accepting them without question just because it fits certain political narrative.
I am not a huge fan of Biden's either. In fact, Biden is one of the last choices I had. I would have rather seen Mayor Pete or Warren or Booker or Harris up there. This isn't a fan boi knee-jerk defense of "my guy"... I mean, he is my guy now. I mean, you know, since he isn't Trump. Anyway.
