(15,369 posts)for me, as you so graciously put it.
He changed to the Republican Party at around the time today's GOP was turning into what it has become; the real changes came in 1994 with Newt Gingrich, for anyone who was paying attention. I give Bloomberg credit for recognizing the brokenness of the GOP and changing to an Independent. But it took him until AFTER Barack Obama's Admin to return to the Democratic Party.
Why AFTER Obama? Why not before then or even during that Admin when Obama was facing a literal wall of GOP opposition? Perhaps only to run for President in 2020? Hmmm. To me, that smacks of being a "Democrat of convenience," much as Sanders does whenever he runs for President, but NOT for his Senate seat. For Bloomberg, it's also not just the party changes. It's the timing.
So while you may be a supporter, I am NOT one.
And that's that. Period.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
