(14,174 posts)We'll agree to disagree about who would draw out more independent votes. IMO "dem leaning indies" are most likely disaffected left voters, who would associate Biden in the same third way group as Hillary Clinton. Those who thought Obama did not go far enough with progressive policies.
Then there's the more confused Independents, who simply believe that there is an overbearing Washington insider establishment working against them, and don't think much deeper than that. Trump is seen as an anti-establishment disruptor, and so is Sanders. Yes I know he's a long time Washington politician, but what many Democrats (in DU and elsewhere) despise him for, remaining a stubborn Independent, including all the grief he gets for that, is proof to many I's that he is also anti-establishment. So some of that group of confused voter will vote Democratic over Trump, if its Sanders that is the nominee.
