(45,614 posts)As people move from north to south, the demographics of Florida has shifted in certain areas and should be more competitive for us.
Hillary had a higher percentage of the vote in Florida than PA, WI, or MI. Our party should work harder to increase turnout from our voters, and to fight voter suppression. The other side thinks our votes matter.
Hillary won Minnesota and New Hampshire with a lower % of the vote than PA, WI, or MI so I wouldn't take anything for granted.
Trump's margin in Michigan was only 11,000 votes. WI 23,000, PA 44,000.
Boosting turnout from urban, liberals, minorities of all types, women, young people, etc. in the blue areas of these states could cover those margins if we had an Obama-like figure to inspire high turnout. I would hope the Obamas campaign hard for whoever we nominate.
If people want to look backwards, why not look at how we won in 2008?
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
