2016 Postmortem
Showing Original Post only (View all)On Huerta [View all]
Yes videos have emerged. I will give her the benefit of the doubt. She did hear English Only, or words to that effect, from a Clinton supporter. She s on the other side of the room. It is loud, it is chaotic (I suspect by design)
Here is who I blame...the state party. They knew this was likely going to have a lot of Spanish speakers. Having a neutral translator as the rules state was the right thing to do. By the way, they did not allow the other partisan, a Sansders supporter, to translate either. So that was handled in a non partisan way. And yes, choice of words in a translation can indeed change meaning.
Huerta has walked her tweet back by the way.
But this storm in a tea cup tells me something else. One side is willing to exploit any and all racism to it's advantage. I am not surprised, but if Clinton wins, people will stay home. In my state it does not matter...in swing states it might. And I will blame the racist politics of personal destruction for that. Nope, not Sanders, the Clintons. In fact, the rancor I see here is deep enough, that I expect Clinton to lose the general due to 1990s politics.
Sanders has a better chance, but this is still the Rs to lose. Statistically it is their turn. Yes, Americans tend to elect the other party every 8 years, with a few exceptions.
On the bright side, DC is such a mess that I expect the next president to not be able to do anything with congress...so there you have it. So unless you elect a congress to go with the presidency, I will just laugh at whoever wins. That includes Trump.
Oh and I went and said it in August at RSD that I expected Trump to be the nominee...you know what? I can see him winning the presidency. Part of it is this lovely idiocy. There are smart politics, there are dumb politics...this is really dumb politics in the grander scheme of things.
So all I can say is please proceed. Shoot the party you all love in the foot. I personally need to order some barrels of ink at this point. Should be entertaining.

Yes. Kind of like voting for a war that kills, maims, and sickens hundreds of thousands..

This is just like Sanders' staff stealing Clinton's data. Somehow, it's turned around to her fault.

She has yet to retract her initial claim. An honorable person would've done that.
