In reply to the discussion: help needed naming a little white dog [View all]magical thyme
(14,881 posts)The person who originally rescued him from a sooty basement discovered his daughter was allergic, so I rescued Bennie and his rescuer.
He had named him Barnie. He left us alone for a few minutes while he went off to answer the phone or something. I sat looking at him and talking quietly to him, calling him Barnie over an dover. I got no response.
So I decided to try calling him Bennie, since he was starting a new life in a forever home. The 2nd or third time I said "Bennie," his eyes lit up and he turned and looked at me.
So Bennie stuck.
So go with your gut, but maybe try the name out a few times and see if she responds. Maybe she'll tell you what her name is
And Happy Christmas! A rescue furbaby is a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas! Both my shelter pups were Christmas pups!
