1. 55 years later and sometimes it feels like not that much has changed

Inside I keep telling myself that we're better now than we were then, but we sure the hell have a long ways to go.

I still remember, as a school aged kid in the 60s, seeing bathrooms labeled "Colored" and "White". I asked my mom why people had to use different bathrooms, all I remember of her explanation was that she hoped it would change someday.

I feel that we're certainly better than we were then, but there's a racist faction among us that's grasping to hang on to that ugly past (and one of them is currently occupying our White House). I'm terrified of tRump somehow using social unrest to his advantage and stealing another election (I'm thinking of Nixon in 1968).
