1. 55 years later and sometimes it feels like not that much has changed

Inside I keep telling myself that we're better now than we were then, but we sure the hell have a long ways to go.

I still remember, as a school aged kid in the 60s, seeing bathrooms labeled "Colored" and "White". I asked my mom why people had to use different bathrooms, all I remember of her explanation was that she hoped it would change someday.

I feel that we're certainly better than we were then, but there's a racist faction among us that's grasping to hang on to that ugly past (and one of them is currently occupying our White House). I'm terrified of tRump somehow using social unrest to his advantage and stealing another election (I'm thinking of Nixon in 1968).

3. yes and the 72 elections.

driving fear down into the people and making those that are full of hate feel empowered is an operational mode for Trump, in fact by it he thinks he is all powerful. Power and self pity ,self pity when things don't go his way. Bottom line, don't give trump power by feeling terrified, that is just what he wants. It will be a long road to fixing this mess, think positive and think past trump. It's bad and more bad to come, but I think the end result will be Trump will reduce the republican party to ash.,he is after all a destroyer. This time unlike when those republicans ran from Bush, there will be no place for them to run or hide. Accountability.
