In reply to the discussion: Trump won't follow New Jersey quarantine order; 'he's not a civilian,' White House says [View all]Rural_Progressive
(1,105 posts)50. Okay, maybe I'm not understanding how he's worked things so far
Well I know he spends more time at his golf courses and resorts than he spends working. I know he has been going on these campaign rallies on the tax payers' dime for the entire 3-1/2 years he's been in office. My understanding is that he does not compensate the cities and towns he visits, even if they ask him not to come, for expenses that come out of their budgets to cover the costs of his "visits". I also know that the amount of federal money going to towns and cities has been cut drastically during his reign.
So he shows up, uses a bunch of their resources, and then stiffs them. You think it would be "petty" for them not to allow themselves to be abused financially like that?
Interesting perspective.

No. It's adjudicated through the military. If they're in a civilian context they're still military.
