(12,586 posts)If ordinary citizens had to identify themselves whenever they provide a lead, the number of cases that get solved would decrease exponentially. Who wants a murderer who's out on bail to know your name, address and telephone number?
The GOP efforts to out the whistleblower in this case isn't about Trump's impeachable actions. It's about deterring future whistleblowers who have information about other illegal actions within Fat Donnie's administration. The Dems ought to point this out every time Trump, Jordan, Nunes, et al, bleat their ignorant demand.
If they out the whistleblower, then experienced web-searchers should be able to dig out and publish the personal information of every GOP congresscritter and RW broadcast personality who insisted on disclosure of the whistleblower's name, including home and cell phone numbers, the addresses of their primary and additional homes, the name of their wife's employer, their church, their social security number, driver license number, and financial information like checking and savings accounts, as well as credit card numbers, and any crime they have committed, including speeding tickets. Let them see how it feels.
