(15,369 posts)No, she doesn't espouse every single one of my views/policies/hopes/wishes. But she espouses most of them. She is also a warm, funny, intelligent, compassionate, caring and sensitive human being who is a very quick learner. She is willing to put herself out there for what is likely the most taxing job in the world, to withstand the piles and piles of RW fascist and misogynist SH** that will come her way, and to fight for those who are vulnerable.
She also has great respect among the international community, which carries a lot of weight with me in particular. There is NO Republican - announced candidate or otherwise - who is even within striking distance. None. The KKKlowns who have announced so far, their sycophants, and any of those we know who are considering a run, are at best embarrassing. At worst, they are literally insane and the non-US world knows it.
Given how outspoken Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders have been lately - even more so than usual - and the rave reviews that both have been getting, I fully expect that Hillary has been paying attention. That will make her an even better candidate.
If she ultimately becomes the Dem nominee for 2016, I believe that Martin O'Malley would be a great Veep pick. He is a great person and I really miss him (after having just spent a couple months in MD, my US state of residence - MD went a bit nuts and elected a GOPer in November). If O'Malley is on the ticket, none of our best Dems in the legislative branch would have to relinquish a seat, nor would any sitting Dem governors.
Best of all, Elizabeth and Bernie can keep on doing their superlative jobs in the Senate and encouraging others to return to their true Democratic roots! If Howard Dean could return to the DNC, we could also rebuilding the 50-state networks to what they were when he left, which would lead to great benefits for progressives everywhere in the US. The DNC since Dean has squandered that legacy. What a shameful and terrible waste!
