In reply to the discussion: There is nothing about Donald Trump or his personality that is even remotely admirable or likable. [View all]lunatica
(53,410 posts)I've always found him to be a cynical boor, ham handed, narcissistic and not very bright. His working vocabulary is completely limited to adjectives like 'disastrous' repeated over and over again. Rarely does he even finish a sentence or even use one. Even George W. Bush could express himself better. From what I've read about him not even the rich or 'high society' in New York like or accept him. His idea of what is beautiful is garish. His biggest schtick is his ability and profound desire to humiliate anyone and everyone in the most crass way he can think of. His strength is that Trump wannabes love him. His followers would love to be able to say the things he does, though I suspect many of them do it in the privacy of their homes and in their circle of friends. I've met and even had in-laws who were like that. They hate with a profound fury because they feel cheated of their right to mistreat everyone and anyone they want to. In their eyes they are the victims of the unfair and unearned rights of minorities. In the name of Jesus they hate everything Jesus espoused.
Fortunately they are old for the most part and they'll die out, but not before they're left behind by the rest of us. Especially the younger generations (I'm a boomer, so I've had to live with these people all my life). But that won't last.
