(53,035 posts)or appear friendly toward one of her predecessors is one of the most ridiculous attacks I've seen, and that is saying alot. I have a lot of problems with Henry Kissinger's record, especially in Chile, but despite that he remains a major figure in diplomatic circles.
People who insist a politician not associate with someone they don't like are people who don't want government to function at all. The Tea Party takes that position, and it is no better when adopted by some on the left. People like that bear some responsibility for the fact that congress no longer functions at all. I've seen some launch into irrational rage at the mere mention of the word compromise, something essential to the legislative process. They place their own egos above the well being of the country, and that is something for which I have no respect.
