If someone were to assert that people always seem to get a job two weeks of their benefits ending, I would respond with "No shit." Employers make you an offer, and then let you start two weeks later after they've had an opportunity to go through their on-boarding process. Then once you start, you cannot collect anymore.

Been there, done that. I did the unemployment dog and pony show for seven weeks this past spring.
