I was lucky to have my son. I tried for 20 more years to have another. 5 miscarriages later, I gave up. I would have been happier if the doctor told me I "couldn't" have anymore instead of it would be "difficult" to have more. Although, I watched my sister go through an emotional hell. I had my son. I carried an enormous amount of guilt for many, many years. We had difficult childhoods, also, which made us incredibly close.

It's amazing what the human soul can endure. The pain we can suffer and still manage to find joy.
