(16,191 posts)The collapse and death were caused by a known pre-existing medical condition, and Kentucky has no Failure To Aid law that requires citizens to call 911 or provide medical assistance to someone who needs it.
As I see it, the worst they could nail him with in regards to her death would be involuntary manslaughter, and even then the prosecutor would need to prove that his actions actually contributed to her death. My guess is that he'll be charged with both rape and manslaughter, and will plea bargain it out to avoid a jury trial. His lawyer will probably make clear that a jury will CRUCIFY him, and that he'll be looking at the maximum sentence otherwise. Sine he's already 71, it's unlikely that he'll ever walk the streets as a free man again.
