(5,125 posts)Every time I speak to my son who is under the thrall of the fake news providers, I wonder if I would be better off without him in my life.
Truth be told, the answer is Yes.
As a parent I thought I taught him to think for himself, question things and reason it out. However, there is propaganda out there being put together like billion dollar block busters and promoted like WWF.
He's "thinking for himself" by not believing what I tell him just because I'm his Mom and he "should" trust me. He believes I am being duped my the MSM with "fake news".
But I watched a clip he sent me about "workers bringing out suitcases of votes after hours" on a PC and read what the investigation into those claims uncovered. The video was spliced with normal activity from the morning dumped into night hours. I saw from one second to the next that there was NO SUITCASE under the table and then there was. I explained all they had to do was change the time marker on top from AM to PM.
I've told him the BLM "vandalism of the Lincoln Memorial" was a tag line down the stairs 50 or so feet away and that the video circulating of actual damage was a fraud put out there. Unfortunately the "LIVE" cameras happened to be down or I would have shown him the impossibility of the damage being true by showing him the statue in tact.
I have to work for a living. I don't have as much time as I need to disprove all these people who are actively working to undermine our justice. I still try, but I feel like I come up short if I can't convince this one person.
I do make progress here and there with him.
But it's like having a relative who got taken in by a cult and trying to deprogram them while they are still attending meetings.
