(730 posts)thought, initially, was the worst flu I had EVER undergone. Couldn't figure out why I was so sick, (Boo was sick too).. We both had gotten our flu shots etc & yes, I know that vaccination does NOT guarantee no flu but this dragged out for the better part of 5 months, (anosmia, barely able to taste anything, myalgia beyond belief, tummy issues..) but for me, not being able to even speak without extended jags of coughing that often ended in vomitting. I couldn't get a test because, well, of course I couldn't and now, I'm considered to be "presumptive positive". I cannot tell you just how many people who travelled to the West coast for business, pleasure or the holidays, only to return to their states to come down with "the worst f&%*$#g flu" they've EVER had. Some were able to get tested for CoV19, aka SARS2 by clinicians who had dealt with patients who got sick with that version of coronavirus & because they'd been informed about the outbreak in Wuhan, they got tested these patients for influenza, (ALL the strains circulating at the time) & they were, to a person, NEGATIVE. For those clinicians that were able to get tests for SARS2, the VAST majority tested positive...That virus was {{HERE}}on the West Coast IN late OCTOBER/early NOVEMBER 2019! ETA: I was tested for INFLUENZA & guess what? It came back more negative than a healthy man 's result on a pregnancy test! So, there's that...
