The one and only penalty for being convicted of impeachment is removal from office. The concept of a pardon does not apply in any way whatsoever to an impeachment.

But a conviction in an impeachment trial would render him extremely vulnerable to criminal prosecution. Pence could pardon him for all federal crimes, but the NY AG could certainly charge him with state crimes.

Yep, if the Senate does the right thing, ideally the NY AG would step in at that point.

Now if the Senate would just do the right thing. Sigh.
