The talk shows, which are not news, those people issue opinions.
I haven't heard anyone on MSNBC say the Dem politicians should work with Repubs right now, since the Trumpers have them captive. I haven't heard CNN shows say that, either.
That's why I asked.
In government, generally speaking, each side has to work with the other, to get things done...in normal times. These are not normal times, of course. So that doesn't apply.
If we get control of the House & pick up some seats in the Senate, our politicians should, and will, try to work with establishment Repubs, because those WILL work with Dems on some things. That's how our government system is set up to work.
Yes..Boehner answering that question honestly, when almost no other Repub would, does show he was friendly with and working with Obama. Maybe you don't know that they're friends? Boehner went to the W H on more than occasion to socialize with Obama...watch a movie, dinner, whatever. So yeah...Boehner did what he could, for some things. But he can't do anything without the agreement of the Repubs, and the alt-right was in a fight for control of the Repub Party. They won and kicked Boehner out of his speakership.
