I don't think the parents even know them much less the kids. I have tried to use the metaphor, Midas' touch with middle school kids and they just have deer in the headlights eyes. Having to explain it makes the lesson weak. So I have learned to not take it for granted that kids know anything that was formerly in the common knowledge.
