I don't think the parents even know them much less the kids. I have tried to use the metaphor, Midas' touch with middle school kids and they just have deer in the headlights eyes. Having to explain it makes the lesson weak. So I have learned to not take it for granted that kids know anything that was formerly in the common knowledge.

Bedtime was always story time. This is a real loss to children. I guess they just give them an iPad now. It makes me sad.

That never pan out. The people making those claims are the ones crying wolf. When they have something real, the risk is that they will be ignored.
