Soph0571's JournalI am now 'older'
When did this happen??? I was sitting on a London Tube on my commute home tonight. Luckily for me I start from my office in outer London to travel to my home in Central London, so I always get a seat. Busying myself on my i-pad while listening to a bbc radio 4 podcast (very interesting about a hidden UK white nationalist on the international scene) I was not paying much notice to what was going on around me. I happened to look up and see a VERY pregnant woman standing (at this point standing room only on the tube) beside me. I, of course, immediately offered my seat. She very politely declined my offer. Fine. But then a young woman sitting beside me turned to me to say ' Oh, I did not notice her until you offered your seat'. She promptly offered her seat which was accepted with enthusiasm by the pregnant woman.
When the hell did I become the woman that needs a seat on the commute over a pregnant lass? Well, today...... OMG I just became 'older'. BTW I am not 90
Question for all - when did you have that moment when the young start to pity you? Would rather stand 8 months pregnant than put you out? As someone in their late 40's I like to think I am a young late 40's...... obviously not.
Sittin' underneath a tree
Bank Holiday Monday. My local green space. Sitting underneath a 300 year old tree. Some rough red, a baguette, some (very ripe) cambazola and pate.. perfect!

Right-Wing Coalition Crafts Model Legislation to Advance Christian Dominionism in the States
"In God We Trust," should be on display in public buildings and on license plates; "the role of religion in the constitutional history of the United States" should "be publicly displayed in court houses and other state and local buildings throughout" the states; The Bible should be taught "as an elective course in public schools; "proclamations" recognizing Religious Freedom Day, Christian Heritage Month, Year of The Bible, and Christmas Day, should be issued, are some of the model bills created by a Religious Right project called "Project Blitz."
-----------
According to Clarkson, Project Blitz has set up three categories of interest: "Category 1,'Legislation Regarding Our Country's Religious Heritage,' seek to recognize' Christian principles" in American history, including what they term "Judeo-Christian dimensions"; "Measures in Category 2 are framed as 'Resolutions and Proclamations Recognizing the Importance of Religious History'; "The model bills in Category 3 are framed as Religious Liberty Protection Legislation, which, they believe, may'have the greatest immediate impact on protecting religious liberties.'"

Interesting if unsurprising read
THE RNC JUST RIGGED THE 2020 GOP PRIMARIES
The Republican National Committee just voted to get rid of the body that organizes presidential primary debates, so if you want to debate other GOP presidential candidates, including President Trump, you'll have to do it on your own. (And don't expect Trump to agree to a debate.)
CNN calls it "a small but meaningful change signaling that Republicans do not plan to sanction any primary debates in the upcoming presidential election cycle." It's also "a warning to would-be Republican rivals of President Donald Trump about his strong support among party loyalists."

GOP Attacks on Obamacare Have Hurt Republicans the Most
As Mother Jones notes, Republicans now have a higher uninsured rate than before Obamacare even. Talk about undoing all of the positive work the previous president tried to provide for the entire country.
