Yet another impeachable offence.
It has been ever thus...
Same shit different century - but then fascists are a rather blunt instrument of tyranny, they always have been... heh.
The Chicago Tribune has a cover page today...TRUTH MATTERS
Not the actual front page but on point! Truth must out...

Trump reveals the moment he thinks went best for him in impeachment's first day
(Rep. John Ratcliffe) asked the two star witnesses, where is the impeachable event in that call?' Trump tweeted. Both stared straight ahead with a blank look on their face, remained silent, & were unable to answer the question. That would be the end of a case run by normal people! but not Shifty!

If that is his best moment??? That moment when he demonstrates that he can't tell the difference between judge, prosecutor and witness... that moment was his best moment....
We all need to be this right now...
Light over darkness...
Resistance is not futile
Choices...Choices...
Six of one half a dozen of the other. It is an impossible choice in an impossible election. Who would you prefer as PM? One will literally dismantle the state in a a right wing wet dream of being a deregulated tax haven, the other will literally expand the state to such an extent that nothing and nobody would be safe economically..
I am going with the tactical voting and hope for a further hung parliament solution. That way they will all have to curtail their worst excesses, or at least that is the plan!
What a choice.
We are witness to the beginning of the beginning, rather than the beginning of the end.
In theory, Legislators swear to uphold the Constitution, they do not swear fealty to the president, right? In theory. We know that Trump is a bully boy who will stop at nothing to get his own way and that the Republican legislators are swept up in the Trump cult of nasty personality. So, this week as we listen to the devastating evidence coming out of the hearings this should be the beginning of the end for the felon in the White House. Right?
The problem is, of course, in the real world the republicans dont give a shit about the Constitution, they care only for power, so it matters not once jot that he is as guilty as sin. The polls will need to shift more on impeachment for them to defend the law and the constitution in any way at all they really dont care what he has actually done, they will defend any behaviour if it helps them cling to power. Hell, he could put out a hit on Biden, and they would argue he is not guilty because he did not actually pull the trigger.
This SHOULD be the beginning of the end. But if republicans did their job to uphold the rule of law and impeach, then Pence would be next in the impeachment firing line and that risks Pelosi in the White House, and they would rather burn the constitution to the ground than allow that to happen.
We are witness to the beginning of the beginning, rather than the beginning of the end. But we will see the end in sight soon enough if the testimony continues to be so bloody explosive. Oh, and blue wave 2020.
Turkish forces launch attacks on Syrian Christian communities as Trump welcomes Erdogan to the WH
As the White House meeting between the two leaders took place, reports emerged that Turkish forces launched an attack on the predominantly Christian Syrian town of Til Temir.
