What IS the State vs. Fed law with legalized recreational pot in our state

in 2018? I just saw a local KPBS News hour ad that said that less than an ounce can still be illegal under Fed law and border crossings are a prime place for arrests to happen.

The theme for the 2nd anniv of the Women's March is "Hear Our Vote".

The marches are occurring throughout the US on Jan. 20, 2018. The times vary in the different cities. You can Google Women's March 2018 and the name of your city. The list is growing. Here is an older link that lists a few of the cities.

Someone in my family is a Congressional staffer

and I asked her about how calls are received by the staffers in both chambers and both parties. I have been on nation wide calls with Indivisible, MoveOn, etc and was told by them that when you call a rep about a bill or issue that you should make it a single issue, keep it short (pro or con) and that they do tally the numbers from emails, phone messages, actual conversations with a staffer, etc. My niece told me this is 100% correct from her experience as a volunteer/staffer for a Dem rep from San Diego, CA in DC.

Since I have been calling all reps (mostly Repub since I live in a blue city and state) for over a year and over 450 phone calls I wanted to know if my system of contacting the GOP reps and being taken seriously as a constituent was valid. It is I am happy so say. If you call a rep outside of your area from your real cell phone number using a valid address from an actual home, apt., for sale or rent in a senator's state or a congressman's district and you do not want a reply it works like a charm. I was able to get any address in the US within 2 min on Zillow, I call from my cell and I have that info ready if they ask. Sometimes they do. My niece said that they don't have the time to run all the addresses and names from the calls they get for something like the ACA Repeal or the Tax Scam.
I am no longer going to bring a butter knife to a gun fight. Ethical, schmethical...FUCK THE GOP! They are greedy, hypocritical, treasonous sociopaths who want to first bankrupt then kill the 99%. Wait until they go after Social Security and Medicare. Wait for Putin to interfere/hack the midterms since nothing is being done to stop them (especially non implemented sanctions let alone tech security along with bots, trolls, etc). What will the GOP do with Mueller, let alone the entire Russian interference in our elections. I am ready and strong...2017 was just practice for 2018!

Grass roots and fact checking has to go 100% and go non stop.

My niece came home from DC

where she attends GW University and works at Scott Peters' office (Dem rep for San Diego). She lectured her mom and me since we were discussing the likelihood of the fucking moron firing Mueller. Apparently she and my sister have had this discussion before. She insists that since she works in DC for a rep she has the REAL info and her mom and I are rubes. Her "in-the-know" DC friends are sure that he won't fire Mueller and that Ryan doesn't want him to and not many Repubs REALLY wants him to. My sister and I are older and wiser and do not trust any Repub as far as we can throw one (neither does her dad and my parents (all heavy duty life long Dems).

Are we being too pessimistic or too realistic?

Happy Festivus (for the rest of us).

I made this card last year and it still applies to this year (maybe even more so, unfortunately). Hopefully next Christmas I will be inspired to make a more cheerful card.

Here is the info to protest Mueller's firing...

There are over 400 protests planned to take action within hours of the announcement. The Winter Recess is when many assume the fucking moron will do it. Have your signs ready and let everyone know on social media too. This is growing rapidly so there may be even more cities than what is posted here.

Repeal the Trump Tax RESISTANCE ACTIONS

https://repealthetrumptax.org/?source=20171221rtttemail

That’s right: Republicans are sending the most unpopular piece of legislation in modern history to President Trump’s desk for his signature. (The House will likely have a final confirmation vote today, but this is essentially a done deal.)

They ignored the hundreds of rallies, millions of calls, and countless emails, tweets, and polls showing just how much the American people hated this bill -- which only had a 26% nationwide approval rating.

Over and over this year, Republicans in Congress -- supported by Donald Trump and backed by their rich donors -- have voted to betray working families in their own states and districts.

We won’t let them get away with it -- we’ve come too far and too much is on the line.

If you’re angry, too -- add your name RIGHT NOW to say the TrumpTax MUST GO.

As disgusted as I am at Republicans right now, I’m also thankful and humbled today by the support of hundreds of thousands of folks like you who’ve made their voices heard. Many DC insiders thought Trump would get his wish for tax breaks for himself and his rich cronies MONTHS ago without anyone paying much attention, but you turned this into a FIGHT.

And we’re not stopping now -- we need you to keep up the pressure and make it clear to members of Congress who voted the wrong way that we will not forget.

That starts right now -- add your name to say Congress should repeal the TrumpTax:

www.repealthetrumptax.org

Thanks so much for staying in the fight -- more soon.

Nicole Gill
Executive Director, Tax March

P.S. We’ll be hitting the road early next year on a nationwide Repeal the TrumpTax tour that will culminate with hundreds of events across the country on April 15th. Stay tuned for more details.
