Does anyone actually like voting in person best?

I love it, the entire experience. It is a "grown up" thing, it is official, it is secret, it means your opinion is valid. I get mail in ballots but I always take them in in person. I am proud of the entire process. Seeing MY name on a list, sliding my envelope into the official box, knowing that the poll workers are happy to see me, the quiet room where serious people are trying to fill the forms out and not mess up, and getting a sticker that says I VOTED for my dog, one for myself and a sheet of them in 4 different languages (for my first graders who voted all year long when I was a teacher), walking home from the polls feeling civic pride. I even save the booklets to see the results. I can see all of my dog's stickers on all of her stuffed animals from years of voting too.

HAPPY VOTING EVERYONE!

Phila Eagles will not go to W House Tues.

Many eagles players did NOT want to go, so then the whole team was UNinvited. Yeah PHILA! The founding fathers of our "city of brotherly love" would definitely approve!

The Eagles were set to visit the White House on Tuesday. It’s a tradition that has been in place for quite some time.

However, multiple members of the team have said they didn’t plan to take the trip. Malcolm Jenkins and Chris Long are two of the more prominent players that won’t be there because of their differences with President Donald Trump.

On Monday, Trump released a statement regarding the visit he had planned for the Eagles. To summarize, he told them they are no longer invited.

....."But her return to her role following the break will not be open to the press, with CNN reporting that the White House event on Monday will not have members of the media in attendance."

If you are working to GOTV focus on healthcare.

The Dems are winning when they push affordable healthcare. I have said that this should be the most discussed issue when planning for the primaries and midterms since last Winter. The town halls, protests, phone calls from voters in both parties are evidence of what matters most in their lives. Polls are showing that this is the issue that the GOP screwed up and they own it. The states that have had their primaries have flipped due to the healthcare problems and the costs are going higher. The tax scam is also an issue that constituents are not happy about and it (once again, both parties).

Resisters ARE resisting, large protests continue

while his cult/base buys more tiki torches (so sad these fine people can't get more to stand by them ).

https://www.dailykos.com/story/2018/6/2/1768472/-Four-protests-have-each-brought-out-1-million-Americans-during-Trump-s-term-all-of-them-liberal

"There have been at least four national protests during the Trump presidency to bring out over one million Americans each."
Since President Trump’s inauguration, the United States has seen four enormous protests — each with well over 1 million participants — objecting to the administration and its policies: the 2017 Women’s March, the 2018 Women’s March, the national student walkout on March 14 and the March for Our Lives on March 24.

When you look at the issues that are bringing Americans into the parks and streets, they continue to be civil rights issues. From Black Lives Matter to March for Our Lives, demands for civil progress against state-sponsored or state-coddled violence are active and angry; demands for civil retrenchment, despite all the bleatings of Republican leaders and the feverish attempt by the New York Times to find any connecting thread among Trump voters other than gullibility and racism, are not. The tiki torch-wielding mobs of Charlottesville were small and petty; gun-rights protests intended to counter marching students have been minuscule affairs.
America is not going quietly into that good night. Whatever's being said on the television sets, the momentum continues to be on the side of those that would reform the country, rather than those that would sell it off for parts. So that's something.

She could be a double agent and Putin can slip her a polonium cocktail.

Too much drama and intrigue for Roseanne's audience?

In response to the growing number of children and youth separated from their immigrant families at the border or their homes, and the thousands of children who have been harmed or abused by Trump's immigration agencies, we are holding a non-violent National Day of Action for Children on Friday, June 1st. We demand that the Trump administration stop separating immigrant children and youth from their families and account for what is happening to all children in immigration custody.

Can a president pardon himself?

I was listening to Michael Steele on Brian Williams (as I was making my sign for tomorrow's protest) and he said that this pardon BS is leading up to the fucking moron's pardoning himself and Brian didn't ask him if that is a possibility. Is it? Are there any legal eagle DUers out there?

*Oops...I just saw that someone else just asked the same thing.

About BigmanPigman

I am 57, retired teacher and illustrator, life-long dem., activist, union member. Also I do not use social media and I'm technologically retarded. I love dogs, rock music and swearing (a lot). My 17 year old "puppy" died on June 2, 2020. She grew up listening to Animals (Pink Floyd). She has kept me sane through the tRump years, not easy, and has given me endless love, companionship, kisses and tail wags.
