BigmanPigman's JournalWhy are the cancellations of events, etc for only 2-3 weeks?
Will it magically be over and have run its course by than or is this wishful thinking by the US? What is the theory behind choosing these dates?
I'd like to post a DU Poll and need input.
I want to know which actions/decisions are the top five WORST of this admin. Then I thought maybe it should be the top 10 since he has done so much harm for 3 years. Any suggestions to help me narrow it down?
An oldie but a goodie....The Preamble to the Constitution
Historian Jon Meacham believes the Fed Govt was intended to protect the citizens' general welfare (our health, such as during a pandemic) and guide the states, not the opposite which is what is occurring now under this admin. He mentioned this on The 11th Hour tonight on MSNBC.
Curious...has anyone looked at Fux Noise and what they are reporting?
What is the GOP crowd doing and saying about the virus today and tonight?
Putin Endorses Brazen Remedy to Extend His Rule, Possibly for Life
Source: New York Times
In a carefully scripted appearance, President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia agreed he should be allowed to seek two more terms, if the Constitutional Court approves.
"...on Tuesday, Mr. Putin endorsed a proposal stunningly simpler and more brazen: resetting the Constitutions term-limit clock to zero. The proposal, passed by the lower house of Parliament just hours after it had been introduced, would allow him to serve for an additional two six-year terms when his tenure expires."
"The legislation must still be approved by Russias Constitutional Court and a nationwide referendum in April. But in Russias tightly controlled political system, the choreographed flurry of events on Tuesday was the clearest sign yet that after 20 years as president or prime minister, Mr. Putin, the 67-year-old former KGB spy and icon of strongman rule, is intent on staying in the Kremlin possibly for the rest of his life, or at least until 2036."
"If he serves until then, Mr. Putin will have held the nations highest office for 32 years, longer than Stalin but still short of Peter the Great, who reigned for 43 years."

My cousin lives in the shut down section of Italy, near Milan
He wrote and said that while normal flu mortality is just under 1%, this is 2.5%. You can imagine the impact. The equally important issue is that if everyone gets sick the health care system will not be able to help everyone. It's spreading at the speed of light. Obviously the most affected are the elderly with respiratory problems in progress, but since pneumonia is also cured with oxygen, beds and care systems are needed that are not there for everyone.
This is the problem. Italy has communicated in a transparent way the fact that it has made many citizens take swabs and has appeared as the nation that has stunk the world after China. The real issue is that other countries do not communicate as transparently. In America there will be support for those who are insured. But for others? Don't underestimate.
Hygiene, hygiene, hygiene. Wash well.
Italy's virus situation is getting worse, much worse
"The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in Italy has jumped by at least 133 in the past 24 hours, bringing its total to 366. The move came as the country struggles to contain the virus's spread, with 1,247 new cases detected in the last 24 hours - a 25 percent surge. As of Sunday, Italy confirmed 7,375 infections."

"Italy reported a huge jump in deaths from the coronavirus on Sunday, a surge of more than 50 percent from the day before, as it ordered an unprecedented peacetime lockdown of its wealthiest region in a sweeping effort to fight the epidemic. The extraordinary measure restricted movement for a quarter of the countrys population."

Dr Hatchett, Corona-virus expert...
"Dr Richard Hatchett, who advised both the Bush and Obama administrations on pandemic preparedness called the coronavirus "the most frightening disease" he has ever seen, based on both the high rate of infectiousness and lethality. He compared it to the Spanish Flu of 1918 which killed tens of millions."
"Also noteworthy, Dr. Hatchett mentioned that the United States is particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 because of a lack of a centralized health system that other advanced industrialized nations enjoy, both in terms of mobilizing an effective response from the various government agencies, state and federal, and also the excessive costs. People will go untreated because they simply can't afford it here."

Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer...
https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Gel-Alcohol-Hand-SanitizerThere are several "recipes". I like the third one that is cheap and uses grain alcohol. I would suggest somebody whip up a batch and share it, and the recipe, with others at work and home.
