"VOTE THEM OUT!!!"

This was the favorite chant at my rally today. I also liked "Hey Hey NRA, how many people did you kill today?" and '"Hey, hey Ho ho, the NRA has got to go!". I have been to 14 rallies and the turnout today was up there with the 2nd Women's March (30,000-40,000 in San Diego). RESIST!!

There was on ass from the fucking moron's cult with a huge "MAGA tRump" flag who was trying to incite violence and the speakers told us to ignore him and we drowned him out, eventually he gave up...good riddance.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL/RESIST GUNS

Students all over the US have had enough of going to school in fear. 80% of parents have had to recently discuss gun safety while in school with their kids. Teachers with guns is NOT the answer. Metal detectors at school, citizens calling if they suspect odd behavior, law enforcement support, ban on all assault weapons, thorough background checks , age limits, mental health assess., and changing the violence that has become the norm since the movies, TV and videos began glorifying violence, etc. Better yet, gun buy backs and updating the 2nd amend. That would be a start. Young people have got the courage to do what adults haven't and that is a hopeful sign for a more safe future for all of us.

These young people are new at this and they have a lot going for them...energy, passion, social media savvy, etc. But let's not forget these young adults still are students and must attend school, get good grades and this also takes time and energy. Those of us who have experience can help to assist and guide them but not overshadow them. We can vote and we can RESIST with them. Small victory but I will joyously celebrate it!

He signed a bill that allows for a tiny fraction of his HUGE border wall to be built (33 whole miles of it...that is HUGE ). Not only that but it isn't even an actual "wall" but a fence/levee. The small amount of money that will be going toward the border wall will be used to repair and maintain the current wall. Schumer is elated and so are a zillion others who never wanted a wall in the first place. Even the Fucking Moron didn't want it until Nunsberg suggested it to him before a campaign rally. When his cult/base tasted blood and went wild for "the wall" then the Moron went ahead with the BS idea. He even said this to the Mexican president, hoping to get him to pay for some of it which of course he didn't.

RESIST GUN VIOLENCE...March For Our Lives!

This is NOT normal...80% of parents discussing with their children what to do if a shooter is in their own school. Don't make it normal. Only 3% of Americans approve of the use of guns and the current laws which allow weapons of war to be legally and easily obtained. 99% of gun VIOLENCE is done by WHITE, MALES!!!!! The US has 4.5% of the world's population yet 44% of the world's guns. The Founding Fathers wrote the 2nd amend. over 250 years ago. The intent was to protect themselves from a militia using muskets and bayonets. This is being used an excuse, not an argument, by gun nuts who are violent (and usually men) to allow themselves get their kicks from killing something/anything without forethought or regulation. Two weeks ago I learned that the 500,000 people planning to attend the March in DC at the Mall wouldn't be allowed to as they had planned since they didn't get their permit in before another event that was already scheduled had made arrangements for that place and date. I just saw on MSNBC (Lawrence) that the Cherry Blossom Festival was kind enough to move their event to Sunday, March 25th so the anti-gun violence protesters will be able to have their March For Our Lives after all. Since a student was killed by a trained adult gun nuts will want teachers armed now.

A male student WITH A HAND GUN went to school before classes and shot a girl (probably someone he had a relationship with at one time) and shot her and another student. A trained resource officer who had SWAT team experience was on the school site and was able to shoot the shooter and it was over within 1 min. This was NOT a semi automatic, a regular officer wouldn't have SWAT training, and a hand gun was available to a teenager. The school did procedures but this will happen even if hand guns are available. I bet the NRA will be trying to arm teachers but allow 18 years old to buy semi automatic weapons of war. This is one of the events that happened today.

Question for Parents and Educators...

Does your school have an emergency procedure for what to do if students are not inside a classroom if there is an active shooter or your school site? Ask your district and site principal.

The school shooting today occurred while students were outside of their classrooms and there was no procedure for them to get to safety and protect themselves.

At my elementary school we had a procedure for this for students and staff. This includes school hallways, areas outside before, after and during school and recess time, lunch time, parking lots, etc.
