PA Turnpike commission gets tough on toll debt, woman allegedly owes $92,000

Pennsylvania’s Turnpike commission is chasing down toll welshers. A woman from the Mount Joy Township area, just outside of Harrisburg, accrued nearly $92,000 in debts related to unpaid Pennsylvania Turnpike tolls, according to Lancaster Online.

According to a criminal complaint, Lori Yearick is accused of not paying 1,600 tolls between January 2012 and March 2017. Those routes were mostly between Mechanicsburg and Harrisburg East, an 11-mile trip that currently costs E-ZPass users $1.74. And she was able to avoid paying the tolls by using an E-ZPass only lane even though she didn’t have a valid transponder.

While Ms. Yearick actually owes $26,000 in tolls, the turnpike commission tacked on $66,000 for violation fees relating to the unpaid tolls. According to the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Yearick’s charges are part of the turnpike’s new effort to get more people to pay outstanding fees. So while Ms. Yearick might be the biggest target for the turnpike, there are plenty of others who have avoided paying tolls. In 2016 the state auditor general revealed that as much as $20 million was being lost to unpaid tolls.

... -snip- ...

The toll recently went up 6 percent, raising the toll for passenger vehicles that go from Ohio to New Jersey from $51.85 to $55 for cash customers and from $37 to $39.25 for motorists who use the E-ZPass system. In previous years, the agency approved lower hikes for motorists who use E-ZPass to encourage more to use the cashless system.

I'm working out my travel plans for 2018

I have gone to many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with another person. (Join me?)

I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my children, friends, family and work. I've been told I have been in Ept, but who cares?

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore. I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often. I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older. There have been times that I was in Sufferable, but so what! One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense. It really gets the adrenaline flowing and pumps up the old heart. At my age I need all the stimuli I can get.

I may have been in Continent, but I don't remember what country I was in. It's an age thing. They tell me it's very wet and damp there. I'd never want to go there after being in Digestion. Maybe I should consider staying home this year.

Richard Engel on Assignment - MSNBC 9 p.m. EDT

Chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel focuses on the state of affairs in Russia under President Vladimir Putin, with reports on the threat of political activism under Putin's regime and an interview of chess master Garry Kasparov.

Rachel has the night off, but tune in anyway. This should be a very good show!

Laura Ingraham is listed on Celebrity Net Worth

She makes $15 million per year, including Faux News, TV and radio appearances, speeches, book royalties, and miscellaneous stuff. I think that number will be going down REAL soon.

Bill O'Reilly is back again like a bad penny

Bill O’Reilly returned to Fox News on Sunday evening. But blink and you might’ve missed it.

Despite the network severing ties with the alleged serial sexual harasser a year ago, O’Reilly was credited on-air Sunday night as executive producer of the season-three premiere of Fox docu-series Legends & Lies.

The historical series, which features melodramatic reenactments of major historical moments combined with documentary-style narration and expert interviews, is based on a series of books by O’Reilly and David Fisher.

O'Reilly’s name appeared atop the credits—as the lone executive producer—at the end of the hour-long episode.

Seasons one and two of the series, which aired in 2015 and 2016 respectively, were narrated by the former O’Reilly Factor host himself. But season three is noticeably presented by Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade, despite being based off the book Bill O’Reilly’s Legends and Lies: The Civil War.

Most of us were watching 60 Minutes on Sunday so we probably missed his show. Fox News says they have not resumed a working relationship with O'Reilly. He Legends & Lies series had been scheduled since before his ouster in April 2017.

About FakeNoose

Hey DU friends! Baby boomer here. I became a voter in 1972 when I turned 21, and I've been voting regularly ever since. For a long time I remained independent - always voting for Dem candidates. However that changed in 2008 when I wanted to vote for Hillary Clinton for President. But I live in Pennsylvania where we have closed elections, and my only chance to vote for Hillary was in the Dem primary. So I joined the Democratic Party in 2008, voted for Hillary, and I've never looked back. Barack Obama won the primary in Pennsylvania, as ell as most other states, and I supported him in the general election. It was a different story in 2016 .... You'll never convince me that Chump didn't CHEAT his way into the White House. The worst 4 years in the history of our country ensued, 2017 to 2020, and the first few days of 2021. We all lived through it and i don't need to explain it now. My goal is to make sure that Chump NEVER gets elected to ANYTHING again. Not even Dogcatcher of West Palm Beach FL. Whether he goes to prison is not up to me - but he must be CONVICTED of his crimes and PREVENTED from running for office again. Better yet - he should be in prison or six-feet-under. You get me? I love the cooperation, optimism and can-do spirit of Democratic Underground. We're a community of liberal-minded Americans and we know how to share our stories constructively and pro-actively. Let's all pitch in and get this job done. There has never been a more important election that right now, this year. Democrats everywhere MUST WIN. Joe Biden must win FOUR MORE YEARS!
