The Accidental Texans

Most asylum seekers entering through Texas have no connection to Texas except that their feet touch Texas first. Why should they be forced to stay, or be sent back to Texas if they leave?

There's not a state in the US that could not easily absorb 100 new people, so that's 5,000. How often could 5,000 people be dispersed among 50 states without negative impact on services, infrastructure, and quality of life?

I don't know. I do know that staying in Texas is not a fate that should be forced on anybody.

We are trying to see the greats while we can. Last one was Sir Elton in July and that was the best concert I've ever seen.



Edit to add review: Ms. Ross carried the show and sang well for an hour, but started losing her voice. She soldiered on, but finally turned to the band and said, "That's all we'll do." Still, a good show from a 78-year-old icon.
