Turnout among Hispanics is up about 103% in Florida

I do (not) wonder why...

Florida: 2008 dem was leading with 146 K early ballots - 2016 only 7200. O carried Florida by 3 %

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/11/05/politics/florida-early-voting/

Democrats slowly chipped away at the Republican advantage, largely thanks to strong turnout from Hispanic voters. While they are more split in Florida than in other states, Hispanic voters disproportionately favor Democrats. And this year, turnout among Hispanics is up about 103% from where it was at this point in 2008, according to a CNN analysis of early voting data from Catalist.

Turnout is up across the board, compared to early voting in 2008. But it only increased by about 41% among white voters and only about 13% among black voters.

The relatively small growth in African-American turnout helps explain why Democrats are behind their early voting pace from 2008, a year when then-Sen. Barack Obama carried the state by only 3%.

Trump leading Hillary +1 in latest IBD/TIPP national poll. T taking independents by + 9

http://www.investors.com/politics/donald-trump-leads-hillary-clinton-with-more-states-in-play-ibdtipp-poll/

Donald Trump has moved into the lead over Hillary Clinton, 44% to 43% with two days left before Election Day, according to the latest IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll. And the number of states in play is expanding.

Trump needs to win swing voters by a wide margin to sweep to victory. In the latest IBD/TIPP poll, he leads independents by 9 points, 40%-31%.

Notably, Johnson gets 12% of this key group and Stein 5%. Will independents actually pull the lever for third-party candidates, especially in tossup states where the outcome is in doubt?

Meanwhile, Trump leads among men 50%-38%, while Clinton leads among women, 48%-38%. She dominates with single women, 59%-25%, but married women favor Trump, 49%-38%.

Fucking Trump accuses Dem for voter fraud in Nevada: long lines kept poll location open to 10

Donald Trump, who has long suggested without evidence there is voter fraud in the United States, explicitly accused Democrats in Nevada in engaging in the practice on Saturday.

Speaking in a convention center hall in Reno, Nevada, Trump alleged that the long lines in Hispanic neighborhoods on the last day of early voting in Las Vegas were the result of the machinations of “crazy broken Harry Reid and his political machine”, referring to the Senate minority leader, who hails from the state.

Trump alleged to a crowd: “It’s being reported certain key Democratic polling locations in Clark County were kept open hours and hours beyond closing time to bus and bring Democratic voters in.” He added, “folks, it’s a rigged system, it’s a rigged system” to loud boos, before insisting, “we’re going to beat it”.

The Republican nominee was apparently referring to a Las Vegas supermarket where voters, most of whom were Hispanic, stood in line for hours to vote on Friday night. The length of lines meant that the early voting site did not finally close until 10pm and turnout on Friday set records. On Friday alone, 57,000 people in Clark County, which is home to Las Vegas and majority of Nevada’s population, voted. In total, over 770,000 votes have already been cast in the swing state, making up roughly two-thirds of the estimated turnout, and Democrats are widely favored to win the state, unless there is record Republican turnout on Tuesday.

The state GOP’s chair, Michael McDonald, made similar allegations while speaking before Trump arrived. “Last night in Clark County, they kept a poll open until 10 o’clock at night so a certain group can vote,” McDonald said. “It was in an area that normally has high transition. The polls are supposed to close at seven. This was kept open until 10. You feel free right now? You think this is a free and easy election?”

The remarks marked most specific allegations of voter fraud that Trump has made. The Republican nominee has warned in recent weeks of fraud in cities like “Philadelphia, Chicago and St Louis”, and insisted on Twitter “there is large-scale voter fraud in the United States”.

Trump had long warned vaguely of voter fraud, in particular invoking a Republican dogwhistle about African-American voters in Philadelphia by warning about fraud in “certain areas in Pennsylvania”. The statement is a reference to a particular conspiracy theory that Mitt Romney was somehow the victim of voter fraud in 2012. The theory was premised on the fact that in 59 precincts in Philadelphia, Romney did not receive a single vote. There are 1,687 precincts in the city and President Barack Obama received over 85% of the vote there in 2012.

The Republican presidential nominee also mocked Obama for suggesting “Donald Trump is hurting the foundations of our country by talking about rigging the system”. He added dismissively, “give me a break”, and called Obama “a phony

Early vote Latino up from 2012: 100 % up in Florida, 60 % up in NC, 25 % up in Colorado and Nevada.

Latino voters are already showing up to vote this election and could cast ballots in larger numbers than Democrats saw in recent elections.

On a call with reporters Friday, Latino Decisions– a polling group focused on Hispanic voting patters– said that Latino turnout is on track to make history next week.

On the call, Gabriel Sanchez, a principal at Latino Decisions, pointed to early voting trends that show Latino early voting is up 100 percent in Florida, 60 percent in North Carolina and up 25 percent in Colorado and Nevada.

Sanchez said at this point, Latino Decisions is projecting that between 13.1 million and 14.7 million Latinos will vote on or before Tuesday– a major increase from 2012 numbers when the group estimated 11.2 million voted.

Judge Says North Carolina Must Restore Voter Registrations Of Those Removed From Rolls

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/north-carolina-voters_us_581d0356e4b0e80b02ca2471

WASHINGTON ― County election boards in North Carolina must restore the registrations of voters removed from the polls, U.S. District Judge Loretta Biggs ordered on Friday.

The order follows an emergency hearing held on Wednesday to address allegations that election officials in Beaufort, Moore and Cumberland counties had removed voters from the rolls due to campaign mailers that were returned as undeliverable.

The North Carolina NAACP sued the state on Monday, claiming the purge targeted black voters.
