C Moon's JournalEmail from Joe Biden (campaign email) regarding Bernie. Subject: Bernie
Friends,
Ive had a chance to get to know Bernie over the years. We were in the Senate together before Barack and I took office, and of course, I had known him from his work in the House. What I liked about Bernie was that he said what he believed, no matter who was in the room. I admired his passion. I liked his convictions. I thought people who failed to take him seriously would prove to be sorely mistaken. And, as it turns out, I was right.
Bernie suspended his campaign today, but while you can suspend a campaign, you cant suspend a movement. Bernie and his supporters have taken issues which had been given little attention and brought them to the center of the conversation. Bernie gets a lot of credit for his passionate advocacy for the issues he cares about. But he doesnt get enough credit for being a voice that forces us all to take a hard look in the mirror and ask if weve done enough.
Jill and I cant wait to work with him and Jane on building a more progressive future.
Bernie has often said that his campaign was not about him. It was about us. That goes for me, too. And now more than ever, that rings true. This primary is over -- but this campaign is just beginning. And its a campaign bigger than whose name is on the ballot. Its a campaign about people like us coming together to not only defeat Donald Trump, but to ensure that America lives up to its founding promises once we do.
We will not defeat Donald Trump by being like Donald Trump. We wont win with division, cruelty, or appealing to the worst in us. Well win with compassion, humanity, humility, and joy. Well win by being a campaign that brings Americans together -- a campaign that shows decency, but also determination. A campaign that shows humanity, but also grit. And in the end: we will show the country that a better future is possible. And well show that it is possible because of people like you. Youve built this campaign, and believed in us -- always.
Does it seem reporters are finally taking on Trump?
Or, maybe it's because I very, very rarely watched him speak in the past.
It seemed for the first few years, the reporters tried to be more respectfulor were almost fearful of being kicked out.
Now they look to be taking him oneven interrupting him as he spews a lie-filled reply (I recall one of them had a smile on her face as she interrupted him a few times). I keep hoping one will just get his temper up and he'll turn into a cussing fool in front of the cameras.
Again, it may be because I can't stomach watching him pucker his lips and talk, so I rarely watched these videos before.
A sci-fi writer couldn't have written a crazier story than what we are dealing with in Trump.
I was reading transcripts from today's COVID-19 tv briefing by Trump.
He is lying so much.
He's not even TRYING to cover up any of his previous statementshe just plain denies he said that, or pretends it never happened.
Reading the text is much more telling than watching videos. It's jaw-dropping.
I'm beginning to think that's the problem with our society today: they don't read the news, they watch it. I think reading something sits in your brain longer.
Mr. Trump, who spent weeks downplaying the threat of the virus and who has retreated from his recent suggestion that social distancing could be scaled back in mid-April congratulated himself for projections showing that public health measures may dramatically limit the national death toll.
What would have happened if we did nothing? Because there was a group that said, Lets just ride it out, Mr. Trump said, without saying what group he was referring to.
Mr. Trump said that as many as 2.2 million people would have died if we did nothing, if we just carried on with our life.
You would have seen people dying on airplanes, you would have seen people dying in hotel lobbies you would have seen death all over, Mr. Trump said. By comparison, he said, a potential death toll of 100,000 is a very low number.
Email from Biden (this is the type of President we need now)
Friends --
Families across the country are impacted by COVID-19 -- and it can be especially difficult to explain to children.
So tonight, we are premiering a town hall with Joe and Jill Biden to highlight how the ongoing public health and economic crisis is impacting American families, providing parents and children across the country with advice on how to stay connected, continue schoolwork, take care of each other, and spread joy and kindness during times of great uncertainty and anxiety.

Looters: if Trump, McConnell, Barr, etc were living less lavish lives...
and a natural disaster hit their town, they would be the ones looting the stores and homes.
Wearing a mask.
In the U.S., we're being told wearing a mask in public is not necessary unless your sick.
A couple months ago, I heard a professional say wearing a mask when you're healthy is not a good idea because you'd be touching your face more (to adjust it, etc). So, I've only been wearing gloves at the grocery store, pumping gas, etc.
But lately I've been hearing that wearing a mask in public is a good idea, and in fact will probably be recommended in the U.S. soon (I'm guessing when the medical community has sufficient supply).
Last night, I was reading about the 1918 pandemic in Los Angeles. Wearing a mask became a law: if you were outside without a mask, you stood the chance of being fined or arrested.
I realize we're in short supply of masks right now (for the medical field) so telling the public to wear a mask would create more of a supply issue, but if wearing a mask helps contain the virus, we should at least be aware of the dangers of not wearing a maskperhaps this would keep more people from having parties, gathering in groups, and being 100% sure to practice physical distancing.
I was searching for some information on Coronavius, and here's what Trump has done.
I was curious what the onset symptoms for the virus are, so I did a Google search.
The first three or so links that showed up on Google were by the CDC.
My knee jerk reaction was to move past the CDC links, and find something more reputable.
I've lost faith in our government, because Trump has lied to us on camera, weakened our resources and filled positions with sycophants.
It's amazing that something as small as a germ can bring nations of people to their knees;
And yet, is unable to stop a Republican's greed.
The COVID-19 is NOT the end of Trump and the GOP.
We need to winand win BIGin November.
We have months to go.
The end of Trump and the GOP and Putin will come in November when we vote them OUT.
Keep up the fight against the GOP traitors!
Trump was impeached, and now it's time to throw him out on his ass.
