Exclusive: Military leader of Syrian Kurds tells US 'you are leaving us to be slaughtered'

Source: CNN

By Barbara Starr and Ryan Browne, Updated 12:06 PM ET, Sat October 12, 2019

(CNN)The commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces told a senior US diplomat, "You are leaving us to be slaughtered," demanding to know whether the US is going to do anything to protect Syrian Kurds as Turkey continues its military operation targeting America's Kurdish allies in Syria.

"You have given up on us. You are leaving us to be slaughtered," Gen. Mazloum Kobani Abdi told the Deputy Special Envoy to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, William Roebuck, in a meeting Thursday, according to an internal US government readout that has been obtained exclusively by CNN.

"You are not willing to protect the people, but you do not want another force to come and protect us. You have sold us. This is immoral," Mazloum added.

He insisted the US either help stop the Turkish attack or allow the Syrian Democratic Forces to strike a deal with the Assad regime in Damascus and their Russian backers, allowing Russian warplanes to enforce a no-fly zone over northeast Syria, thereby denying Turkey the ability to carry out airstrikes. The US does not want the Kurds turning to the Russians, administration officials say.

"I need to know if you are capable of protecting my people, of stopping these bombs falling on us or not. I need to know, because if you're not, I need to make a deal with Russia and the regime now and invite their planes to protect this region," Mazloum said.........................................

So Ben Shapiro threatened to murder someone today.

Another ugly soulless creature.

So Ben Shapiro threatened to murder someone today.

Shapiro warned that if politicians try to mandate LGBTQ 'indoctrination' in all schools, then he'll "pick up a gun." adding "Beto O'Rourke does not get to raise my child. And if he tries, I will meet him at the door with a gun."

Exclusive: Turkey Attacks US Special Forces in Syria, Apparently by Mistake

Source: Newsweek

By Tom O'Connor , James LaPorta AND Naveed Jamali On 10/11/19 at 2:49 PM EDT

A contingent of U.S. Special Forces was caught up in Turkish shelling against U.S.-backed Kurdish positions in northern Syria, days after President Donald Trump told his Turkish counterpart he would withdraw U.S. troops from certain positions in the area. A senior Pentagon official said shelling by the Turkish forces was so heavy that the U.S. personnel considered firing back in self-defense.

Newsweek has learned through both an Iraqi Kurdish intelligence official and the senior Pentagon official that Special Forces operating on Mashtenour hill in the majority-Kurdish city of Kobani fell under artillery fire from Turkish forces conducting their so-called "Operation Peace Spring" against Kurdish fighters backed by the U.S. but considered terrorist organizations by Turkey. No injuries have been reported.

Instead of returning fire, the Special Forces withdrew once the shelling had ceased. Newsweek previously reported Wednesday that the current rules of engagement for U.S. forces continue to be centered around self-defense and that no order has been issued by the Pentagon for a complete withdrawal from Syria.

The Pentagon official said that Turkish forces should be aware of U.S. positions "down to the grid." The official could not specify the exact number of personnel present, but indicated they were "small numbers below company level," so somewhere between 15 and 100 troops. Newsweek has reached out to the Pentagon for comment on the situation..........................

Prince's Estate Slams Trump for Playing 'Purple Rain' Again During Rally

Source: DAILY BEAST

Updated 10.11.19 5:37AM ET /

President Trump’s team played Prince’s “Purple Rain” on Thursday night at a campaign rally in Minneapolis, violating an agreement made between the Prince estate and Trump’s campaign in 2018. “President Trump played Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ tonight at a campaign event in Minneapolis despite confirming a year ago that the campaign would not use Prince’s music,” Prince’s estate said in a tweet. “The Prince Estate will never give permission to President Trump to use Prince’s songs.” The estate originally requested that the president immediately “cease all use” of Prince’s songs in October 2018 after Trump used the song during pre-Election Day rallies, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports. The estate shared the written agreement in the tweet, where the law firm that represented the Trump campaign at the time said it would not use any Prince songs in connection with Trump campaign events.

........................NEW … People close to President DONALD TRUMP tell us that TREY GOWDY’S ascendance into the president’s circle is an attempt to supplant RUDY GIULIANI as a presence on cable television and Sunday shows. One person close to Trump said White House aides have been “pulling their hair out” every time Rudy opens his mouth on TV.

-- BUT … TRUMP said before departing for Minneapolis on Thursday that “Trey Gowdy can't start until sometime after January because of the lobbying rules and regulations. So, I don't know. So, we'll have to see.”

ALL THE PRESIDENT’S LAWYERS .... YAHOO’S HUNTER WALKER: “‘Trey is a joke among us’: Gowdy seen as divisive addition to Trump’s legal team”: “‘He’s not on the team. Trey Gowdy is not on the team. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris released a new proposal as part of her LGBTQ agenda ahead of tonight’s town hall.

Harris pledged to appoint more LGBTQ people to leadership roles in her administration, including her cabinet, as well as a chief advocate for LGBTQ Affairs in the White House, according to a campaign statement.

“When I’m president, change will start from the top,” Harris said in the statement. “We will lift people up through inclusion and put in place policies that create opportunity and ensure representation at the highest levels of government.”
