John Dingell hospitalized after fall: 'Glad Im not a horse'

Source: Freep

Former U.S. Rep. John Dingell, 91, is hospitalized at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. following a fall.

His wife, U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Dearborn, posted on her personal Facebook page Tuesday that he is in good spirits but having trouble putting weight on his left leg, suffering from what doctors believe is a strain of the quadriceps. Nothing is broken, she noted.

If you’re lucky enough to make it to 91 years old, pay attention to where you’re walking. Took a fall and ended up hanging out here at @GWHospital with a bum leg.

Feeling good though. Particularly glad I’m not a horse.

Track Palin, son of former Gov. Sarah Palin, arrested for assaulting his father

Source: Anchorage Daily News

PALMER — Track Palin, the 28-year-old son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was arrested on assault and burglary charges after he repeatedly hit his father, Todd Palin, at the family home Saturday, charging documents say.

Wasilla police came to the Palin home after Sarah Palin called them just after 8:30 p.m. to say her son was "freaking out and was on some type of medication," according to a sworn affidavit filed in court by Wasilla officer Adam LaPointe.

Track Palin came to the house to confront his father over a truck he wanted to pick up, according to the affidavit. Todd Palin told his son not to come because he'd been drinking and taking pain medication.

"Track told him he was (going to) come anyway to beat his ass," LaPointe wrote.

Todd Palin told the officer he got his pistol to "protect his family" and met his son with the gun when he came to the door, according to the affidavit.

Track Palin broke a window and came through it, and put his father on the ground, the report states. He began hitting him on the head.

Todd Palin escaped and left the house. He suffered injuries to his face and head, the officer wrote. He was bleeding from several cuts on his head and had liquid coming from his ear.

Franken urged to reverse his resignation

Source: Politico

At least four senators are urging Al Franken to reconsider resigning, including two who issued statements calling for the resignation two weeks ago and said they now feel remorse over what they feel was a rush to judgment.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who urged Franken not to step down to begin with — at least not before he went through an Ethics Committee investigation — said the Minnesota senator was railroaded by fellow Democrats.

“What they did to Al was atrocious, the Democrats,” said West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin in an interview for POLITICO’s Off Message podcast to post on Tuesday.

Franken's unusual timeline — in his departure announcement he said he’d go “in the coming weeks,” without setting a date — has fed the fleeting hopes that there’s still time to reverse course. However, Tina Smith, Minnesota's Democratic lieutenant governor, was named last week as his appointed successor.

O.M.F.G: Omarosa Found in a Psychedelic Seapunk-Styled Space Mission to Get Donald Trump's Hair

Source: Jezebel

Just days ago, it was reported that Apprentice star Omarosa (alias “Lady O,” née Omarosa Manigault Newman) was fired from whatever White House position was made for her (unclear; technically director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison), but it’s okay. Omarosa will take any gig.

This 2006 video, submitted to Page Six, emerged from the crazed/artistic/you decide brains of tabloid editors Michael Todd, former In Touch Weekly photo director, Matt Coppa, deputy editor at Star, and his brother Andrew Coppa. Stripped of intentionally low-fi graphics, it’s a tale about an elderly space woman who brainwashes Omarosa in her plot to steal a lock of Donald Trump’s hair in order to conquer the universe. Omarosa does, and that’s it. It’s a Trump-era Der Ring des Nibelungen except with way less story and way more Omarosa.

Kremlin says U.S. tip-off helped Russia halt terrorist attack

Source: Reuters

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin telephoned U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday to thank him for a tip-off that helped prevent a terrorist bomb attack on a cathedral in the Russia city of St Petersburg, the Kremlin said.

Information provided by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) allowed Russian law-enforcement agencies to arrest the would-be attackers before they could carry out their plan, the Kremlin said in a statement posted on its Internet site.

A senior Trump administration official confirmed Trump and Putin had spoken on Sunday. However, there was no immediate confirmation from U.S. authorities that they had shared the intelligence with Russian officials.

The foiled attack was to have been carried out on Kazansky Cathedral, in Russia’s second city of St Petersburg, and on other locations in the city where large numbers of people gather, the Kremlin statement said. The cathedral is a popular tourist site.

Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked President Trump during a call on Sunday for information that helped stop a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg, Russia’s Interfax news agency reported.

Putin asked Trump to thank the director of the CIA and agency operatives, according to the report, which cited the Kremlin.

The Russian president also assured Trump that Russian intelligence would immediately pass on any information it obtains on terrorist threats against the U.S., Interfax added.
