A man re-animated 'Sleeping Beauty' to create an unforgettable wedding proposal

(CNN)An illustrator, a self-described hopeless romantic and a room full of Redditors made one man's proposal to his high school sweetheart quite literally picture perfect.

Filmmaker Lee Loechler spent six months working with an Australian illustrator to get himself and his girlfriend, Sthuthi David, animated into a fake screening of her favorite Disney movie, "Sleeping Beauty."

"It's not every day you get to propose to your High School sweetheart," Loechler wrote on Instagram. "The only thing better than seeing the smartest person I know completely dumbfounded was knowing we'd get to live happily ever after together."

It happened on December 30 at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in the couple's hometown of Brookline, Massachusetts. David, a medical resident at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and Loechler, who lives and works in Los Angeles, were back home for the holidays.

Trump angered by House ally’s push to limit his authority on Iran

Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican and staunch ally of President Trump, pushed other Republicans to vote in favor of limiting Trump’s authority in the military confrontation with Iran, drawing ire from the president and other Republicans in Congress, according to aides and emails.

“Reclaiming Congressional power is the Constitutional conservative position!” Devin Murphy, Gaetz’s legislative director, wrote to all Republican offices around 11 a.m. Thursday, underlining the text, according to the email obtained by The Washington Post.

The message, arguing for Republicans to buck the president, ended: “We WILL be voting in favor of H. Con. Res. 83, and hope you will do the same!”

It was a risky move that surprised the president and showed rare fissures in a Republican Party that Trump has firmly controlled. Trump fiercely complained about Gaetz after aides informed Trump that his office had sent the email backing the resolution, which was pushed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Trump’s team lobbied heavily against the nonbinding resolution.

GOOP Has a Candle Called 'This Smells Like My Vagina'

Right now at Goop, you can buy a candle called Orchard or Church, or you can buy one called “This Smells Like My Vagina.”

Given that she has encouraged the public to consider steaming theirs and sticking rocks up there, maybe lighting a vagina on fire isn’t that outlandish. According Goop lore, the idea came straight from GP (as insiders call her) herself. It all started as “a joke” between Paltrow and Heretic perfumer Douglas Little, with whom she frequently collaborates on her own scents. The two were sampling potential fragrances when she suddenly blurted out, “Uhhh … this smells like a vagina.” (Remember that time she yelled “VAGINA! VAGINA! VAGINA!” to a roomful of HBS students? Okay!)

But Gwyneth has high standards, so they kept working on it until it had “evolved into a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent.” The Goop copy calls it “perfect as a candle” — because what’s better than inviting guests into your home, having them compliment you on the lovely scent, and then humbly saying, “Thanks, it’s this new vagina candle I picked up”?

The candle costs $75, and Goop says it sold out within hours at one of the company’s events (it does match the other branding). High-end, wellness-y Brooklyn beauty shop Shen also carries the candle, but it’s currently sold out on its site.

Pelosi Announces She Will Send Impeachment Articles to Senate Next Week

Source: The Daily Beast

Three weeks after the House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald Trump, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her intention to officially send articles of impeachment to the Senate—a move that ends the House’s role in the process and tees up a Senate trial that could begin as early as next week.

Pelosi put an end to weeks of speculation about her strategy with a low-key letter to fellow House Democrats on Friday morning. The speaker wrote that she had asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) to be “prepared” to introduce a resolution next week that would transmit the articles to the Senate and appoint the handful of Democratic lawmakers who will act as prosecutors in the trial.

“In an impeachment trial, every Senator takes an oath to ‘do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws,’” wrote Pelosi. “Every senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the president or the Constitution.”

The release comes as a relief to some Democrats who had steadily lost patience with Pelosi’s gambit to hold the articles on the House side in the hopes of pressuring Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to implement procedures for a Senate trial that Democrats would consider fair—including an agreement to allow new witnesses and evidence to be presented.
