OK so I just did this

First I went over to the Dallas Cowboy's site and on their "Contact" page I gave them a bit of my mind. I told them how racist it is to take away their players' 1st amendment rights to protest the police brutality that they face every day and that they need to learn about systemic racism and racial profiling

After I clicked "submit" I came upon a page where you could ask for donations from the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation explained below

The Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation and the Dallas Cowboys are happy to review in-kind donation requests from 501c3 non-profit organizations holding auction or raffle fundraisers when provided at least an eight (8) week notice of the scheduled fundraising event. To be considered for a donation, please submit a request using the system below.

So I submitted a request. I initially just said I wanted them to make a donation to the ACLU but they wanted detail and a type of fundraiser so I just winged it

I would like you to have a big benefit gala to raise money for the ACLU. And I would like you to have someone from the ACLU speak at the Gala about systemic racism in our country. You obviously need to learn about this and you need to make amends to your black employees for suggesting that their civil rights are not as important as your personal beliefs. You are taking away their right to protest against police brutality that they routinely experience. Your behavior has been unethical and insensitive and you need to make amends

The name of my organization is: A private citizen with a message

I'm sure there won't be a gala to raise money for the ACLU coming soon but maybe they'll get a message and donate some money. Jerry Jone's net worth is 5.6 billion. He can surely spare some. And if not I've had my say with them - twice

So Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance dropped case against Trump kids after a big donation

ALBANY - A state assemblyman wants state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to investigate Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's decision to drop a case against two of President Trump's kids.

Vance received a $31,000 donation from Trump's personal lawyer in 2013 after deciding not to prosecute Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

Vance in 2010 began looking into whether Trump’s kids misled prospective buyers in a failed Manhattan Trump Soho project, but ultimately dropped the case over the objections of his investigators, according to a report by WNYC, ProPublica, and The New Yorker.

In a letter calling for Schneiderman to investigate the matter, Assemblyman Dan Quart (D-Manhattan) said “a district attorney must not only adhere to the laws that govern public officials, but be held to a higher standard.”

I just remembered something

Trump pledged 1 million to help hurricane victims.

I would love someone to ask Sarah Sanders about it

Time to spread the horribleness of Roy Moore around and get our Dem in office

Video at link: http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/21/politics/kfile-roy-moore-homosexuality-illegal/index.html

Senate candidate Roy Moore in 2005: 'Homosexual conduct should be illegal'

Moore has been a staunch opponent of LGBT rights throughout his career. Last September he was suspended from Alabama's Supreme Court for failing to comply with the Federal Supreme Court's ruling that legalized gay marriage nationwide. In 2014, Moore wrote letters to all 50 state governors calling on them to convene a constitutional convention to ban gay marriage.

CNN has also reported that Moore repeatedly appeared on a radio show hosted by a pastor who preaches the death penalty for homosexuality.

Later in the interview, when Press asked why the government should ban what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes, Moore compared gay sex to bestiality.

I would love to see something like #GOPhaveBlackHearts trend on Twitter

I would really like to see something that would show regular folks that members of the GOP really do have black hearts. I realize there are some that don't fit the bill but they are few and far between.

They think nothing of taking away health care for millions of people just so they can get their support from their donors. That is not just a group of bad people, that is a group of sociopaths with no discernable empathy.

I know that studies show the CEO's have the highest number of sociopaths in their subset but politicians have high numbers too. I bet if they only counted Republican politicians the number would be as high as the CEO number

So if people with high numbers of followers want to start a hashtag I'll gladly follow it and retweet it.

(I'd like to see a hashtag like that combined with #Christians since these people seem to be completely clueless and they erroneously trust phony's like Pence who proclaim they are Christians just to gain their votes)

So my refrigerator sat for 8 days without power. I threw out a bunch of rotting food

And now it seems as if I can't get the smell out and it seems as if it is coming from behind the back of the freezer. I always used to get some gnats in the refrigerator which I just accepted as part of Florida but there was an awful lot of them in there when I began to clean it out.

I kind of fear putting food in there now and wonder if I should invest in a new refrigerator. I remember this happening to my mother's refrigerator a few years ago when they were gone for about 3 months and it lost power for at least several days and she ended up getting a new one.

Thoughts?

An update on my Mom who fell outside Germain Arena Saturday morning.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/10029577015

She fell, most likely from standing in the heat for over 3 hours and had to go into emergency surgery to stop bleeding inside her cranial walls.

So after 2 days they have taken her off the sedation medication and she is waking up very well. She is still intibated so can't talk but she has looked at me in the eyes and seems to know it is me. She has also been able to follow some commands from the nurse. The doctor thinks she is doing really well.

Thank you all so much for the well wishes, thoughts and prayers.

A word about the thousands stuck outside a huge shelter in Fort Myers

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hurricane-irma-thousands-stuck-in-lines-outside-crowded-florida-shelters/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab4

I am writing this on my phone so forgive the mistakes. I hope I was able to post the entire url too the CBS.article about how the Germaine Arena shelter made thousands stand outside for hours in the heat waiting to get into the shelter that they could have opened but didn't, When they finally opened they only opened a couple doors up until it started pouring and then, all of a sudden it was possible to let these exhausted, hot people in

I was there this morning. My mom and I got there about. 8pm. She insisted on going too find the end of the line and I followed with the 2 dogs and pillows, suitcase and blankets. I lost her and my back, which has some serious problems caused me to sit and wait until she came up in the line at which point I would join her.

But instead, my mom, who is 85 tripped and fell, I'm sure with a lot of help from the heat and the fact that she had been standing on line for nearly 3 'hours.

So I am now sitting next to her in her ICU bed. Her anti blood clot medicine caused a big bleed between her skull and brain and also a small one in her brain.

The nurse told me that they woke her up and my mom wouldn't follow her finger. The doctor said the surgery was a success but he didn't realize how much more blood was there and that there is now " pressure"

I am besides myself with grief, worry, guilt and anger. I do know one thing. There was no reason too make all those thousands of people stand outside for hours when that stadium was empty. My mother was not the only elderly person there. I am kicking myself for things I could have done or things I wished I hadn't done but let me just finish with a big Fuck You too the planners and their lack of sensitivity to a while lot of desperate people
