Man accused of making and stashing pounds of powerful explosives in Manatee County

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A man accused of having highly-sensitive homemade explosive material says he never planned to hurt anyone.

Authorities began investigating 52-year-old James R Hoskins Jr. on Monday afternoon, after they say he made "concerning statements" to a worker at a mental health facility.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office says Hoskins made threats toward a roommate and admitted to having various materials used to make "small rocket motors." Manatee County Hazmat officials and the sheriff's office bomb squad were dispatched. Deputies say Hoskins let them view his self-proclaimed powder room -- where suspicious chemicals were found.

Hoskins was taken into protective custody. As a felon, he is prohibited from possessing or making explosives. His prior convictions include grand theft, forgery and battery, according to court records.

Hackers may have gained 'almost total control' of an election server in Georgia, report says

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/hackers-may-have-gained-e2-80-98almost-total-control-e2-80-99-of-an-election-server-in-georgia-report-says/ar-BBZ5W5g?fbclid=IwAR1iehh9pbkdpTYyOs_beGNm2PYkVUcmvzWZhx7ZPgpsrDLqKIvKbwHg3Ro

An election security report has revealed evidence of a possible hacking on a Georgia server that may have compromised the state’s voting machines in both 2016 and 2018.

The alleged attack on a Georgia election server was first discovered by Logan Lamb, an election security expert who suggested that hackers may have been able to significantly interfere with state voting data.

If the hackers successfully broke into the server, Mr Lamb said in his report that they likely obtained “almost total control of the server, including abilities to modify files, delete data, and install malware”.

Multiple activist groups have filed a lawsuit arguing that the vulnerabilities would have allowed hackers to manipulate the results of the state’s most recent elections.

More versions of this story continue to come out. In my view, the GOP/Russians/etc. have been hacking DREs, tabulators, and election results as far back as 2000.

Parrot screams, 'Let me out!' Florida deputies respond to 911 call

LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Someone in Florida dialed 911 after hearing chilling cries and the words “Let me out!”

But the cries were that of a 40-year-old parrot named Rambo. After the call, four Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies pulled up and questioned a man who appeared to be repairing a car in his driveway.

"I was changing the brakes on my wife's car and had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks. Sometime later four police officers showed up saying a neighbor called because she heard a woman screaming for help.

"I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo and we all had a good laugh. Afterward, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbor who called in the screaming. She too had a good laugh."
