(JEWISH GROUP) Swastikas and Silence

(THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP!! RESPECT!)

As always, they came for the Jews.

I’m watching TV after the riots in Charlottesville. I hear that a girl died after a neo-Nazi hit her with his car, I watch Klansmen perform Nazi salutes, and I listen to reporters talk about the growing “alt-right.” I pick up my phone and scroll down social media. Everyone is talking about protecting people of color and the statements Black Lives Matter activists have made in response to the weekend’s events. As always, none of my friends are talking about anti-Semitism. I have long since stopped being surprised.

See, I’m not afraid of the neo-Nazis. There aren’t enough of them for me to feel like they pose a real threat to my well-being and everyone laughs at them anyway. What I am really, genuinely terrified of is the left’s utter refusal to acknowledge any anti-Semitism, especially when it comes from within their own ranks.

I’m Jewish. As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, I know the importance of standing up to anti-Semitism. People seem to accept history, acknowledging that my people were the subject of hatred and genocide, but they think that’s all over. Nobody sees Jews as victims of discrimination anymore. Instead, stereotypes portray us as powerful, money-hungry, and manipulative. They say our sons are weak-willed and our daughters are indulged. People believe these claims and argue— look at all their money. How can they be oppressed? That, in itself, feeds into the oppression. If nobody stands up to oppressors, what would make them stop?

As a matter of fact, Jews experience violence at exorbitant rates. In 2015, the FBI reported that more than half of religiously-motivated hate crimes in the U.S. were committed against Jews— two and half times more than were committed against Muslims. Just last year, babies were being rushed out of Jewish Community Centers in their cots for fear of bombs. I became scared to visit my hometown because of its high Jewish population.

Antisemitic robbers target Jewish family near Paris

Source: The Guardian

A Jewish family was beaten, held hostage and robbed in their home near Paris because of their religion, French authorities and anti-hate groups said on Sunday.

Three attackers burst into the house in the Paris suburb of Livry-Gargan late on Thursday, cut off the electricity and confined three members of a Jewish family, beating them and threatening to kill them, until one of them managed to escape and alert the police, said antisemitism watchdog BNVCA.

It said the assailants told the three victims: “You are Jews, you have money. We take money from Jews to give to the poor.”

One of the victims was Roger Pinto, the 78-year-old head of Siona, an association “defending the Jewish people and the state of Israel,” Pinto’s lawyer, Marc Bensimon, said.

Pinto was kicked several times in the head and throat, Bensimon said. The other two victims were Pinto’s wife, who managed to sound the alarm, and Pinto’s son.

Gee, attacking Jews because "they have money", it is almost as if people think there is a link to Jews and money, which is why we hear "their religion is money" is an acceptable form of attack for certain Jews.

When Trump denounces the fake media his anti-Semitic fans hear Jewish media

His attacks resemble Henry Ford’s. He too was embraced by anti-Semites.

On August 14, President Trump reluctantly read a statement intended to assure Americans that, contrary to an impression left by his earlier speech, he condemned the neo-Nazis and white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville. The next day, he returned to Twitter to complain about the press: “Made additional remarks on Charlottesville and realize once again that the #Fake News Media will never be satisfied …. truly bad people!”

Trump has been picking fights with the media since he declared his candidacy. But these latest outbursts reveal more than ordinary presidential frustration with the press. And they’re no ordinary way of expressing that frustration. Trump has long played on racism against African-Americans to attract white supremacists. He does the same when he demonizes the media.

The president is deploying, consciously or not, a classic trope from the Russian anti-Semitic fabrication, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, published in 1905. When he says “fake media,” anti-Semites hear “Jewish-controlled media,” which exerts disproportionate power over other media outlets and public opinion. Anti-Semites understand what Trump is doing. They blame the “whining Jew media” for forcing Trump to condemn the Nazis who marched in Virginia.

The Protocols are the Bible of the anti-Semitic movement. They purport to be the minutes of a meeting where Jewish elders detail their plan to conquer the world. In the part of the Protocols titled “Control of the Press,” it is “revealed” that Jews control every aspect of the press to protect their new worldwide government from attack or criticism. The unnamed narrators admit their real aim is a false-flag attack on the legitimate press: “Among those making attacks on us will also be organs established by us, but they will attack exclusively points that we have pre-determined to alter.” Fake news, then, begins as Jewish infiltration of the legitimate press and transforms into complete domination: “Not a single announcement will reach the public without our control.”

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Of course, this is a "water is wet" type of revelation, but the sad fact is most people who understand the wetness of the water also miss the point and immediately launch into their own anti-Semitism by attacking Jews on the right with anti-Semitic clichés and other age-old nonsense.

(JEWISH GROUP) Holocaust survivor celebrates bar mitzvah in Israel, 80 years later

(THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP!! RESPECT!)

Eighty years after he missed the Jewish coming-of-age ceremony, 93-year-old Holocaust survivor Shalom Shtamberg celebrated his bar mitzvah on Thursday with his family and friends in the northern Israeli city of Haifa.

Shtamberg was born in Warsaw, Poland, and should have celebrated his bar mitzvah when he turned 13, but instead he was taken to a Warsaw Ghetto with his family.

He survived - unlike most of his family - by training as an electrician and acquiring skills that made him valued as a good worker.

On Thursday, Shtamberg was picked up from his home by trainee police officers, who drove him to a synagogue in Haifa where he was welcomed by cheering crowds and flower bouquets.

(JEWISH GROUP) Should Jewish Celebrities Be Wearing Yellow Stars?

THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP!! RESPECT!

In September 1939, while Nazi Germany invaded Central Poland and initiated World War II, Polish Jews were ordered to wear signifying markers on their clothing to identify them as such.

Germany was already steeped in anti-Semitism. As early as 1933, Jews had been removed from their positions in government, the army, and at universities and newspapers; 1935’s Nuremberg Laws stripped them of citizenship and eventually their right to own businesses and properties. In November 1938 there was Kristallnacht, a night of mass destruction of Jewish businesses, homes, and synagogues. And yet forcing Jews to wear differentiators pre-dates even those horrors, all the way back to the Middle Ages when Catholic bishops and Muslim caliphs ordered Jews to wear signifiers like specific hats, yellow badges, and belts. The practice largely disappeared after the Jewish emancipation of the 19th century until re-emerging in 1939.

The yellow star was not mandatory at first. From Poland to Croatia to the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, Jews were told to wear any sort of signifier on their clothing. And so various badges, like a white arm band with a blue Star of David, were worn across Eastern Europe. By 1941, though, the yellow star was the mandate, and Jews living in Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Greece, Belgium, and France all wore different variations. The resurrection of this external Jewish signifier, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum notes, wasn’t just to “stigmatize and humiliate Jews, but also to segregate them and to watch and control their movements.”

Fast forward to 2017, and the yellow star has emerged once again, this time under completely different circumstances. Last week, Billy Joel pinned one to both the lapel and the back of his black suit for his concert at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The assumption was that Joel, who is Jewish, wore it as an act of solidarity in response to Charlottesville and the rising — and loud — tide of anti-Semitism across America, though he didn’t verbally acknowledge the choice on stage. Joel’s ex-wife, Christie Brinkley, and daughter Alexa Ray applauded him on Instagram, with the latter writing: “Now, THIS Is How You Do It. THAT'S MY POP!!! Proud Jewish New Yorker Through & Through!!!!!”

Fuck yes! Sure, I can see some problems as listed in the article, but the reality is more Jews need to "come out" and stop fighting for the rights of everyone under the sun, but ignoring their own!

Protect and Serve? Oklahoma Police Chief Bart Alsbrook's White Power Ties

Sixteen billion dollars from 15.4 million victims — that’s the total scope of identity theft in the United States in 2016 according to a study authored by Javelin Strategy & Research.

---snip---

Alsbrook distanced himself from the accusations and denied involvement with white supremacists, claiming that a group of skinheads stole his wallet in the 1990s and have been starting neo-Nazi hate sites using his personal details ever since.

But while the facts of that theft are vague, Alsbrook’s history in the organized white supremacist movement is clear.

---snip---

KVII’s Knapp reported in a follow-up story on Monday that Colbert’s city council isn’t planning on firing Alsbrook, even after he has offered to resign.

Knapp quoted city spokesman Jerry Harrell as saying, “They [the city council] don’t want him to leave because he hasn’t done anything they would warrant as grounds for dismissal.”

On the centennial of Jack Kirbys birth, his superheroes still pack a punch

He is known, quite simply, as the “King of Comics.”

Born Jacob Kurtzberg, artist and writer Jack Kirby, who would have turned 100 on Aug. 28, was a driving, creative force during the Golden Age of comics in the 1940s, and he revolutionized the comics industry again during its Silver Age in the 1960s.

Kirby was the co-creator of such comic book icons as the X-Men, Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four and, most notably, Captain America and the Avengers. It was Captain America’s initial appearance that put Kirby on the map as a dynamic and provocative storyteller — especially since that appearance featured America’s First Avenger punching Adolf Hitler in the jaw, a full year before the United States entered World War II.

Kirby’s controversial drawing made a splash at the time, but his prolific, creative output from that point on proved that he was no one-hit wonder.

Artistically, Kirby injected comic books for Marvel, DC and others with a much-needed boost of energy. His vivacious, explosive illustrations are often described as too big for the page, imbuing the images with buoyant grandiosity. Kirby also became known for humanizing his superheroes, bestowing them with moral failings, romantic entanglements and petty grudges as a means of infusing them with more down-to-earth relatability. The Fantastic Four, co-created with Stan Lee in 1961, signifies this shift toward realism.

(JEWISH GROUP) Beware of anti-Semitism from the left

THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP!! RESPECT!

With the recent white nationalist rallies in Virginia and the rise of the self-proclaimed alt-right, it comes as no surprise that anti-Semitism is alive and well. It may come as more of a surprise that the left is sometimes just as guilty as the right. This mostly comes from many people's inability to separate Judaism from the nation of Israel, but also from the inability to recognize the presence of anti-Semitism as a whole.

Israel has been a Jewish state since 1948. At this time in history, several important events occurred, including the birth of the Zionist movement, the support and protection of a Jewish state in Palestine and the continued support of modern Israel.

---SNIP---

While the rallies in Charlottesville were absolutely issues of race and white supremacy, they were also direct anti-Semitic attacks. It is impossible to ignore the history between Jews and symbols of Nazism, but many prominent leaders in the left, such as Bernie Sanders, failed to mention the presence of anti-Semitism at all.

This is because racism and anti-Semitism exist in different spheres. While white privilege absolutely exists, Jewish privilege does not. Many American Jews are white, which protects them from racism, but it does nothing to protect from anti-Semitism.
