Why some protesters are dressed as kangaroos and clowns amid Texas hearing on abortion pill

This RWNJ judge tried to hide the fact of this hearing to avoid protestors. These protestors make me smile

A ruling is expected to come down from a federal judge in Texas Wednesday that could see an abortion medication being taken off the market in the United States.....

According to a transcript of a closed-door meeting, Kacsmaryk told trial lawyers that he planned to wait until late Tuesday to make public the logistics of the hearing to avoid protests.

"This is not a gag order but just a request for courtesy given the death threats and harassing phone calls and voicemails that this division has received," Kacsmaryk told attorneys in the case. "We want a fluid hearing with all parties being heard. I think less advertisement of this hearing is better."

Organizers from the Women's March said they intend to stage a "kangaroo court" outside the courthouse, where protestors will be dressed in costume to suggest the case is based entirely on fraudulent claims.

Kacsmaryk "says he doesn't want a 'circus-like' atmosphere, all while behaving like a clown who treats our lives like a political game," the organizers of the Women's March wrote. "So, we will bring the circus to him. Come in your clown makeup, and we will show the world what the Federal Court is all about here in Amarillo, a kangaroo court!"

I am glad that these protestors are there to show the judge how democracy and the First Amendment work

FTC probes Twitter data practices after Elon Musk's layoffs

One of the topics that I have seen for discussion by the GOP controlled house committees is the concept that the Biden administration is picking on Musk and Twitter. The facts are very different from what the GOP committees are discussing. Twitter had been operating under FTC cease and desist order since 2011

The FTC is now investigating Musk and Twitter for compliance with the existing order

The Federal Trade Commission is investigating Elon Musk’s mass layoffs at Twitter and trying to obtain his internal communications as part of ongoing oversight into the social media company’s privacy and cybersecurity practices, according to documents described in a congressional report.

The FTC has been watching the company for years since Twitter agreed to a 2011 consent order alleging serious data security lapses. But the agency’s concerns spiked with the tumult that followed Musk’s Oct. 27 takeover of the company.

The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee published excerpts from the FTC’s letters Tuesday as part of a report alleging that the agency was overreaching “to harass Elon Musk’s Twitter.”

The House said the requests amounted to a deluge of “demands about its personnel decisions in each of the company’s departments, every internal communication relating to Elon Musk and even Twitter’s interactions with journalists” who Musk’s team allowed to see certain employee emails and messages.

Those documents were dubbed “The Twitter Files” and were meant to show how the company made decisions to moderate content before Musk took over.

In a response to the House report, the FTC said, “Protecting consumers’ privacy is exactly what the FTC is supposed to do. It should come as no surprise that career staff at the commission are conducting a rigorous investigation into Twitter’s compliance with a consent order that came into effect long before Mr. Musk purchased the company.”

Twitter had already paid a $150 million penalty in May, about five months before Musk’s takeover, for violating the 2011 consent order. An updated version established new procedures requiring the company to implement an enhanced privacy-protection program as well as beefing up information security.

Trump finds a select group of people whom he considers 'racist'

TFG hates non-white prosecutors and is happy to call these public servants vile names such as racist. Again, this is a matter of projection in that TFG is a major racist

Donald Trump lashes out at perceived foes on a daily basis, but he doesn’t generally refer to opponents as “racists.” As the former president told the Christian Broadcasting Network last year, “Whenever you hear that term, that means you’re winning because what they’re doing is, that’s their last card.”

In other words, as the Republican described it, referring to a political adversary as a “racist” is a desperation move, used only as a last resort when all other forms of criticism have failed.,,,,,

With this in mind, the former president turned to his social media platform on Friday night to whine about the New York prosecutor investigating his hush money scandal:

The Racist Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, who is presiding over one of the most dangerous and violent cities in the U.S., and doing NOTHING about it, is being pushed relentlessly by the Radical Left Democrats, the Fake News Media, and the Department of ‘Injustice,’ to bring charges against me for the now ancient ‘no affair’ story of Stormy ‘Horseface’ Danials [sic], where there is no crime and charges have NEVER been brought on such a case before. In the meantime, Hunter & Joe Biden skate!”

Shortly before midnight on Friday night, he published a similar message attacking Bragg, once again calling him a “racist.”

There’s no point in refuting each of Trump’s specific claims — it’s well-tread ground — but it was of interest to see the Republican lash out at the Manhattan district attorney, who is a Black man, as a “racist.”

Yesterday, the former president wrote a related missive, but this time he referred to Fulton County’s Fani Willis, who is a Black woman, as the “Racist District Attorney.”.....

But while he has plenty to say about them — Smith was recently labeled a “mad dog psycho” — Trump has never accused them of being “racist.” The former president reserves that label for Black prosecutors investigating his alleged wrongdoing.

That’s quite a coincidence.
