"Sudden thoughts and Second thoughts "

1. It is important that we pay attention to the individual who, if Trump is in fact nominated, is the Vice-Presidential candidate. There are a variety of obvious reasons for this not the least of which is the fact, not opinion, but absolute fact that Trump’s somatic decline is evident to almost any clinician who has treated individuals over decades. What we are seeing visibly, putting aside for the moment his mental decline, is the decompensation of his systems. This is easily explained: individuals who have certain conditions, often well-controlled medically, can suddenly find that his or her condition deteriorates rapidly and is resistant to conventional medical and pharmaceutical treatment. This is very common in heart disease of various types. This fellow is not doing well and is under terrible stress, believe it or not, about things of which we are entirely unaware because I am of the firm belief that he has committed acts of which we have not been informed and is terrified that the metaphorical cat will be let out of the metaphorical bag, in addition to everything else going on. The phrase “House of Cards” does not begin to describe the syncytial web of crime he has woven.

2. I am of the firm belief that if, please God, President Biden stays healthy, he and Kamala Harris are going to win hugely in November. Yes, I see the polls, yes I watch the horse race coverage, but do recall that candidate Biden came in fifth, that’s FIFTH, in New Hampshire in 2020 and one endorsement put him impossible-to-catch ahead. Lots is going to happen between now and Election Day and my prediction is success. ( And yes…we all have to vote and get out the vote for us. I know. And yes we have a lot of work to do. I know. )

3. Being from Philly, we always watched politics in Atlantic City even before gambling was legalized because…it was nearly always a comedy show. Here’s how it works: an individual declares candidacy for major office in AC…they raise lots of money by going to meetings in restaurants and retirement homes….they incessantly campaign and appear on the Boardwalk and Atlantic Avenue shaking hands and promising rehabilitation of the terrifyingly decrepit city…they win the primary and then campaign for the general election the same way…have a big party in a ballroom…take the oath of office a couple months later…a federal grand jury is then convened, the individual is arrested, bailed out and awaits trial, the entire time protesting that they’re innocent…they are inevitably convicted with the use of bank statements and wiretap evidence and sent “to the country for some r &r” (that’s what they tell the young children in the family). The headline this week was: “Former Atlantic City council president arrested in voter fraud scheme”. I moved to the contiguous town four years ago. It’s continuous local entertainment.

4. Finally, the US military just launched a massive strike against a foe who has been attempting to provoke us. Well, they succeeded in doing so: they killed three soldiers and wounded over twenty. We hit them hard as we should: 85 missions, blew up ammo dumps, dropped 150 targeted munitions which made the targets look like the Fourth of July sky on the ground. Fully justified and exactly how you answer these types of attacks upon our military personnel. Well done Mr. President and from what we are made to understand, we have only just begun to retaliate. Go for it.

So…how did Israel retaliate when one thousand two hundred civilians….CIVILIANS that is, not active military, were tortured, raped, horrifyingly sadistically murdered after mutilation WHILE THEY WERE STILL ALIVE, and over two hundred taken hostage, likely to receive the same fate or even worse? The Israeli government did not release the methodology of some of the murders, they were that utterly revolting and sick. The Israelis answered in kind, and yes, it is horrifying but any group who next attempts this will now know what is going to happen to their terrorists as well as the populace behind whom they hide, cowards that they are. Yes, this offends many here, and I respect that to an extent, but when you’re dealing with sadistic killers on this level, sometimes you have to make your point very strongly. I am aware many of you resent me and are gnashing your teeth reading this but this is the real world. Not the keyboard world wherein truth, Justice, and the American Way are the rules of the road. No rules with these people - I distinctly recall terrorist bombings of Israeli cafes after Shabbat concluded on Saturday nights. How many Sunday mornings did I awaken to CNN showing the soldiers surrounding the area while medical personnel were literally scraping body parts and bits of dynamited flesh off the walls of the surrounding buildings? Once is too many times. Hamas and their money people knew exactly how this would be responded to, and are doing their best to turn world opinion against the victims but this was attempted to no avail in 1967 following the complete destruction of the Egyptian army and Air Force, and the heavy casualties inflicted upon Jordan and Syria.

5. As a post-script do recall what we, the United States military effected upon the fleeing Iraqi troops at the end of the Gulf War. We annihilated the column returning to Baghdad, destroyed every vehicle and I assume most within those vehicles. I recall General Schwarzkopf and Secretary Powell stating that there were no troops remaining between the destroyed column and Baghdad, but we weren’t going to invade any further, and allowed Saddam to remain in power for a variety of complex geopolitical reasons. Yes…it’s a complex world it is.

Just remember: Hamas promised they’d do it again. And they will most certainly try.

World's tallest flagpole project not gonna happen

I read this with my jaw dropped for a variety of reasons.

https://www.bangordailynews.com/2024/02/02/down-east/downeast-business/worlds-tallest-flagpole-no-longer-happening/?mc_cid=2c771cd242&mc_eid=fe5cd6520c&fbclid=IwAR1MmTNcNqZDhMjsoea3SO4yEoFWu0GQceGtIkLL3MUfy8_fhSUxxjuj_4A_aem_AWbwid88F44eXIPmcOi8NromrOub3I8n4MxE5XGQvTy1pqFPEAPrn7IyurZRuY78G2Q

The family-owned company that had proposed building the world’s tallest flagpole in the woods of Washington County has dropped the project, according to the Maine Monitor.

Worcester Resources, which is based in Columbia Falls, had proposed to build a so-called Flagpole of Freedom that would have stood 1,461 feet tall — taller than the Empire State Building — and flown an American flag larger than a football field. Symbolically, it would have stood a total of 1,776 feet above sea level. The $1 billion project would also have included a 2,500-acre park.

“The status is they are no longer proposing that project as envisioned,” an attorney for the Worcester Resources, Tim Pease, told the Monitor.
They will “no longer be pursuing the plan anywhere,” Pease said. “They are looking to the future and other ways to honor veterans.” Pease said he didn’t know the company’s reasons for canceling the project.

The Worcester family also runs a holiday wreath business and Wreaths Across America, an organization which commemorates veterans. It had proposed the flagpole project in the same spirit and argued that it would bring needed jobs and economic development to the region. It was to be partly funded through donations.

Texas may well be seceding:

Shopping online for dishes I saw this.

This goes with the Moon Landing Myth, Taylor Swift and her takeover of the federal government,

It’s all on the Intertubes…you can look it up!

Wow. Chris Jansing could barely contain herself,

Choked up and nearly crying after the return of the three soldiers killed. Jack Jacobs as usual told a heartwarming story about his dad who served in WWII.

Perfect dental office moment:

A RW Dallas Cowboy fan was going off on KC and the Super Bowl situation and I let him finish and said perfunctorily:

“Well, Taylor Swift made it to the Super Bowl before Dak Prescott did.”

Dead silence.

Basket AND THE FOUL!!

Yeah..."Holy War"...

A Holy War is a war fought for an ostensible religious cause. The fact that this is the language utilized in the fascists’ attacks upon a pop star is made worse, unbelievably, by a pliant media not demanding to know from these loudmouth miscreant sociopathic haters, what religious sects recognized by modern man would consider declaring a war upon an individual and her associated political group which make up a sizable percentage of Americans.

My reflexive response when hearing this phraseology was: are we referring to the re-creation of the golden idol in the form of Donald Trump? Are we this far removed from modern Judeo-Christian (I personally regard that term as utterly fallacious) values and beliefs?

This is in fact, the rise of American Nazism, and if not stopped, and very soon, there will be a gigantic problem here whose only resolution will be the utter destruction of America as America.

Now I have to root for KC!!!??

Here’s the problem: if I root for a team other than my Eagles, I almost invariably lose. I have approximately an 85% loss rate in this regard. My specialty loss is Super Bowls in which I am spectacular at losing

Mind you, I NEVER bet sports because it would bankrupt me, but my friends literally call me and ask who I’m pulling for and bet the other way. This is not a joke, it really happens.

I cannot bear to root for KC since they beat my Eagles on Ticky-tack holding and interference calls by the corrupt refs, but perhaps I’m a 49ers fan at heart, so they can lose and allow the Swifties a joyous election year. Then again, is this duplicitous and KC will thus be punished because the football gods know what I’m doing?

What’s a mother to do?

I'm mad as Hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore...

I woke up angry this morning. Yes, I know this is bad for the psyche as well as for my physical well-being but something I heard yesterday got into my subconscious and really rankled me.

One of the cable networks showed the clip of Orangina saying that he had “the greatest ‘brand’ in the world“ in a deposition. Oh really?

What about Coca Cola, Marlboro cigarettes, any automobile manufacturer? Howzabout Apple and Microsoft? Don’t much care for those…try Louis Vuitton or Hermes or Chanel. There’s Intel, PepsiCo, Amazon, and Google.

Of course there are dozens more recognized worldwide and to my knowledge, the CEO’s haven’t grabbed pussies or at the very least, made public statements that it’s ok to do so, raped women in dressing rooms, justified any and all fiscal behaviors with outright lies and fiduciary fraud, faked weather maps with Sharpies, publically desired their own daughters, and many many other behaviors which would damage the reputation of a brand.

But they let him get away with that lie like they let him escape from everything else. That’s why you have him. Hopefully, Judge Engoron does the right thing this week, and finishes this guy and his criminal crew off fiscally. Tired of the bullshit.
