The most important case is still the January 6th attack upon our Capitol.

Although the stolen documents case and the election fraud cases are not insignificant, the violent attack upon our Capitol and upon our democracy is still paramount in importance, in my opinion.

Whatever might happen with the Mar-a-Lago stolen documents case, or how it might be resolved, it will not deter the DOJ from prosecuting the crimes of January 6th.

If the stolen documents case must be adjudicated in Florida, then so be it. The attack upon our Capitol will mostly be adjudicated in Washington, DC.

The stolen documents and Georgia fraud cases are only corollary crimes to the attack upon our democracy.

We are in uncharted waters.

A former president has never been indicted in a criminal case before.

Everything from this point forward is unprecedented.

However, once we cross the Rubicon, there is no going back. We must press forward and our North Star must be the rule of law and our Constitution.

Trump took classified documents that he was not entitled to take and he planned on keeping them. After a year of the NARA attempting to get the documents back from him, he was still giving them the run-around, until they requested that the DOJ issue a subpoena for them to get the documents returned to the proper owners, the American people.

Even then, he lied to the FBI when he told them there were no more documents. In just a few hours of searching, they were able to retrieve hundreds of documents from the Trump property at Mar-a-Lago. It was never about not having "enough time" to search for all the documents. It was about hiding the documents that he wanted to keep and obstructing the authorities from finding them. He had no more claim to the documents than the average citizen, when he was no longer the president.

How could he not know there were classified documents in his desk and why did he not choose to hand them over immediately?

The major issue seems to be in what venue were these crimes committed and what state will he be indicted and prosecuted? Defense lawyers are attempting to obfuscate and to blur the facts of what happened, but no amount of lipstick will make this pig look like Marilyn Monroe.

"I don't think so..."

Trump's response when asked by Kaitlin Collins (CNN) if had shown the classified documents to anyone.

His weak response left one with the impression that he had shown them to someone that was not authorized to see them. Perhaps he showed them to someone in NJ, at his golf club?

In my opinion, there will be a lot of witnesses and statements that will incriminate the former Criminal-in-Chief.

There is so much we do not know.

Why would espionage venue be in Florida, rather than Washington?

Did not the crime originate in Washington?

Are they saying that since he was president at the time, he had the right to take the documents? Even if his intent was to never return them?

Is the only defense document the one that he talked about at Bedminster? Were there not other documents discovered that referenced nuclear? Was he not obligated to find any classified documents and return them immediately?

Are there any charges that can be charged in Washington, other than January 6 crimes?

My bet is that Jack Smith has ten times more evidence than we know about.

We don't know what Mark Meadows might have told them?

We don't know what the Secret Service agents might have said in front of the grand jury?

We don't know what was in the recording by his attorney, Evan Corcoran?

We don't know what all the helpers at Mar-a-Lago might have testified?

There is a lot we do not know about and Jack Smith has heard it all.

Desperate and Delusional Trump Commands Cult to "Fight!"

In one of his latest social media posts, he declares his innocence and righteousness, and commands his followers to "fight" for him.

Perhaps they can all gather at Appomattox and discuss their strategy?

After all, many of them have finished their light sentences from their glorious battle of January 6th, and are now ready for another excursion into insanity.

Hopefully, many of them will realize what a break they got with their last sentencing and may not wish to tempt fate again?

Trump is a desperate man. He can feel the heat from the incoming indictment. All he can do is whine and cry about how he is treated differently than all the other presidents and how he is the victim in all his crimes.

His only hope is that his supporters will rise up and violently stop all actions against him. Will they rally behind him this time?

Is there an advantage for Smith to indict Trump before Fani Willis?

Would it make it easier for her to indict Trump if the Feds indicted him first?

After all, he can be pardoned for Federal offenses by the next president, but not for convictions at the state level.

Also, she has subpoenaed many of Trump's co-conspirators, for voter fraud and conspiracy questions already.

Smith could lay the foundation for Fani Willis to put the hammer down on these folks that tried to steal the election, including Donald Trump.

She has declared that they should keep their calendars clean for the first few weeks of August.

The future of the political Parties if Trump goes to jail.

Stand back and stand by and let the system work.

Neither Party is in a comfortable position.

The Democrats would be threatened with violence and retribution if the former president was convicted and incarcerated. The Republicans would be left with the unpalatable position of defending crimes against our nation.

Our nation has been put in a position where we have no choice but to follow the rule of law, as the eyes of the world, and Americans themselves, are looking at whether America will remain the leader of democracy in the world.

If Donald Trump is convicted by a jury of his peers, then he should go to jail. There would be no more appeals, no more double scoops of ice cream, and no more pardons.

The Republicans could take a position to defend the criminal all the way? They could argue that the shit on the bottom of their shoes was nothing more than fresh-mowed hay. But they would be defending an indefensible position.

It would be best if both Parties let the system work. Let our democracy work. Both Parties, and our country, would be better off if they simply washed their hands of this despicable criminal and try to move forward.

There is no future in defending Donald Trump.
