Who can you trust?

If you can't trust your doctor and if you can't trust science and medicine, who can you trust?

Do you trust your pastor?

Do you trust your friends?

Do you trust sources on Facebook?

Do you trust your favorite politicians?

I'm sure you trust them all but who do you trust when your life is on the line? When there is a deadly pandemic and you are trying to keep yourself and your family safe, who do you trust?

I guess the answer is not so obvious?

Who will save the Republic ?

Is there another Abraham Lincoln out there somewhere?

Perhaps you think it is simple hyperbole? That our Republic does not need to be saved?

Perhaps I would have agreed a few months ago? Or even a few weeks ago?

But the Big Lie can no longer be killed. It has a life of its own, in my opinion. We had a chance to kill it but no one did. It is now a monster, living on its own, and no one that believes it will ever change their mind.

Would it make any difference if the Supreme Court made a ruling that denounced the Big Lie? Would it make any difference if the Select Committee comes out with all the facts and who was responsible for the attack upon our Capitol? Have we waited too long?

I'm not sure anyone can now save this Republic. The Big Lie has grown out of control.

The media is doing the same thing to Biden on Afghanistan...

...that they did to Hillary on the emails.

The Republicans have been hammering Biden over Afghanistan and the media has given them free reign. They can say whatever they want and the media does not put any of it into context. Many times it is bald-faced, flat-out lies.

The withdrawal may not have been perfect but Afghanistan was not perfect before the withdrawal. That is the first point that needs to be made. Joe Biden was not dealt a great hand by the previous Administration

Also, it must be noted that Trump had already surrendered to the Taliban before Biden came into office. He made a unilateral deal with the Taliban, without the participation of the Afghan government, and agreed to withdraw all the US troops by May 1st of this year. He left 2500 or so troops for Biden to withdraw because he did not want to be responsible before the election. In his deal with the Taliban, Trump also agreed to free 5000 Taliban prisoners. All of this was done without the approval of Joe Biden or his Administration.

We see today that Biden's poll numbers have gone down to 44%. We should expect them to go even further down if the media does not begin to put the Republican attacks into context. We should not forget what we have inherited. And we should not forget the media's role in putting Donald Trump into office.

What's with Kevin McCarthy?

I just saw a short clip at the beginning of the Brian Williams Show on MSNBC, with Joy Williams as the guest host, and I could not believe my ears.

McCarthy was speaking when I came into the show and he was discussing the subpoenas and the requests for information from the Telecom Companies.

Then he said something to the effect that Democrats were making a big deal over nothing more than a difference of opinion? What Democrats say is an insurrection, McCarthy and many Republicans say it was a peaceful demonstration. That is what they want people to believe.

What do you think is a crime, anyway? Democrats believe one thing - Republicans believe another. We can't make a crime out of a difference of opinion.

What do you say to Kevin?

Lack of sympathy or empathy for our fellow man?

If they are too stupid to wear a mask, then f**k them!

If they would prefer to die by shitting themselves to death, the let them! Put some straw on the floor and give them a blanket. (hee-hee)

But, so long as they are willing to kill the rest of us, why should we care about them, some ask?

Because we are humans. We are supposed to care about our fellow human beings, even if they are our enemies and even if they are stupid.

Do we really want to give that up?

Why should they expect anyone else to adhere to the laws?

When we get subpoenaed, we don't say, "Sorry, I can't make it that day. I can't fit it into my schedule." We answer to the subpoena. The Congress should set the example.

Have we become so corrupt that we have nothing else to fight for? "No one is above the law" is just an old saying that is supposed to make us feel good?

Get the ball rolling. Subpoena him. Let him take it to the Courts. Let them rule. Then we will know where we stand. Stop pussy-footing around.
