Meanwhile, the January 6th investigation is full steam ahead.

As Trump, and most of the nation, has been focused on the "stolen documents" investigation, Merrick Garland and the DOJ have been busy hunting down the possible culprits in the attack upon our Capitol. Dozens have been subpoenaed to testify under oath. We can only guess what information they have gathered?

They have been hot on the money trail, including circumstances around the creation of Trump's "Save America" PAC. (The reports are that he has used the funds in this PAC to pay for his present expensive legal team) I found one of their subpoenas especially interesting, the one for Victoria Toensing, the wife of Joseph Di Genova. If we recall correctly, they were working with the Russians and their "agents" for a while?

The January6th Committee has stated their intent to have another hearing the 28th of this month. No doubt, they have accumulated a truckload of information since their last meeting. They will inform the public of some of their recent findings and witness testimonies. They will likely turn over most of their information to the DOJ for their criminal investigation and begin work on their final report to the American people.

The "stolen documents" scandal can sit on the back burner for a while, as Trump and his lawyers play their legal games. There is more exposure coming down the road.

There must be something very devastating in the "classified" documents?

It's very obvious that Trump wants to keep them hidden. Unfortunately for him, the FBI has probably already seen all of them. It is highly unlikely they were there simply for his ego gratification. He planned to use them to enrich himself, if the past is any indication.

It will be devastating for him if the Appeals Court or the Special Master order that the "Classified Documents" be turned over to the DOJ to further their investigation. Although all the other press clippings and photos, etc, are still the property of the NARA, for historical preservation, they are not that important for the investigation at this time. It is the "classified documents" that might show the roadmap to Trump's motivations.

Trump and his attorneys are acting out of desperation. Sooner or later, they will run out of judges they can manipulate. The crime spree will soon come to an end.

Who presently has possession of the 100+ classified documents seized at Mar-a-Lago?

Are they in possession of the DOJ?

Or are they being secured at the NARA (National Archives)?

Or have they been turned over to the Special Master?

I would assume they are in the possession of the DOJ, more specifically, the FBI.

Does anyone know differently?

They are in the possession of the Executive Branch and I don't suppose they are going to be leaving, I would guess.

There are likely a lot of answers in what secrets were stolen.

Our country will be held hostage for as long as the criminal psychopath is allowed to run free.

So long as he was just a con-artist businessman out of NY, the people could live with it.

But once he was given the power of the presidency, he used it in every way imaginable to try and control every facet of our government. The damage he did in only four years is immeasurable.

Even though he is no longer in the White House, he is still using the power he accumulated during his four years in power. He still controls those that worked under him when he was in the White House. It's almost as if the election never happened. He is still their President.

His propaganda effort and his money grift are stronger than ever. He continues to divide our country into partisan tribes. The country is worn out trying to figure out his sick mind.

Nothing will improve until he has been removed from the stage. The people cannot live normal lives under the threat he presents to our country. In some respect, the country is being held hostage to the words and actions of a psychopath.

What Trump and Putin have in common?

First of all, they are cruel by nature. They do not show any empathy for the suffering of others.

Also, they believe all solutions are to be found in the power they control. They are both control freaks. They want to control everything, including the world.

They have no sense of good or bad. They are only concerned about what is "good or bad" for themselves. They are malevolent narcissists.

They are both dangerous to the society around them.

Lying is as natural as breathing to both of them.

They are a big part of the evil in the world. Their followers are mostly ignorant and evil is born of ignorance.

"A nice country you have there.... be a shame to lose it".

Donald Trump threatens the country with unknown violence if he is indicted. It would be big troubles if that happened, he says.

From one shocking comment to another, people are taken aback by the brazen lawlessness of the former "president". (He was never a president) Now he is down to his last cards. He will incite his people to take to the streets and commit unimaginable crimes if the law attempts to hold him accountable.

Also, you don't know what secrets he is still holding and he is not going to tell you. He is above the law. He is bigger than the United States of America. He will make your life miserable.

He has assaulted the senses of Americans of all stripes and dares them to do anything about it.

No matter what the Democrats do, they cannot fix this crisis in our democracy.

I apologize if this sounds too negative, but the only people that can clean up this Republican mess are the Republicans.

If they choose to sit on the sidelines in silence as our democracy crumbles, there is not a lot that Democrats can do to prevent it. They can spend money and run ads and win elections, but even that does not guarantee they will have legitimacy from half the country. Republicans have to step forward for democracy to work.

If they do not, I do not believe Democrats can do it alone. We should keep a very close watch on the Supreme Court. If they rule for Trump and the cult, I will be tempted to believe that fascism has won.

The "stolen documents" case is going to the Supreme Court eventually.

And I do not have a lot of confidence in our Justice system. There are Justices on the Court that are more loyal to the Trump cult than to the Constitution. It is a possibility they would vote with the Judge in Florida, putting our national security at risk and disregarding our Constitution.

I am not certain they would follow the rule of law and vote against the criminal mobster that stole our national secrets and attempted to overthrow our government. The Justice system has been corrupted. We just do not know how much?

Funny How Time Slip Away

There is a debate that we must have.

We cannot ignore Justice. We cannot re-define it. We cannot make it disappear. We must confront it.

There are those who will argue that it would be too divisive for our country if some people were held accountable for their crimes. They argue that it would tear the country apart. There would be riots in the street.

The nation needs this debate. We cannot permit politics to determine the course of justice. We cannot permit one side to argue that crimes can be overlooked because their side cannot be held accountable. We cannot permit threats of violence to prevent justice from taking its course. We must stand as all courageous Americans must stand.

We cannot permit mob violence, from any quarter, for any reason. We have a jury system that permits any citizen the right to a fair trial by his peers. That is the best solution we have discovered up to this time.

But, one thing is for certain.

We cannot ignore Justice.
