Why ESPN sucks

They claim to be the worldwide leader in sports broadcasting, but what's on the front page of their website? LeBron James. Why? Because ESPN paid a lot of money in rights fees to the NBA, so they want NBA stories to be the most important. The World Cup? Well, they don't own the rights, so screw them.

When you're coverage of sports depends upon the rights fees that you have, you're no longer in the sports broadcasting business.

The Judicial Procedures Reform Bill of 1937[1] (frequently called the "court-packing plan&quot [2] was a legislative initiative proposed by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt to add more justices to the U.S. Supreme Court. Roosevelt's purpose was to obtain favorable rulings regarding New Deal legislation that the court had ruled unconstitutional.[3] The central provision of the bill would have granted the President power to appoint an additional Justice to the U.S. Supreme Court, up to a maximum of six, for every member of the court over the age of 70 years and 6 months.

In the Judiciary Act of 1869 Congress had established that the United States Supreme Court would consist of the Chief Justice and eight associate justices. During Roosevelt's first term the Supreme Court struck down several New Deal measures as being unconstitutional. Roosevelt sought to reverse this by changing the makeup of the court through the appointment of new additional justices who he hoped would rule his legislative initiatives did not exceed the constitutional authority of the government. Since the U.S. Constitution does not define the size of the Supreme Court, Roosevelt pointed out that it was within the power of the Congress to change it. The legislation was viewed by members of both parties as an attempt to stack the court, and was opposed by many Democrats, including Vice President John Nance Garner.[4][5] The bill came to be known as Roosevelt's "court-packing plan".[2]

History books from the future are open, and the pages are blank waiting for you to take a principled stand.

Roe is done. Some states will keep abortion legal. What then?

Are they going to prohibit women from traveling? Will women have to take a pregnancy exam before they board a plane or bus? And then take another one when they return?

It's almost impossible to keep one's civility when children are being abused by our govt.

Sure, if we're talking about tax cuts, let's be civil. If we're talking about global trade, let's have a reasoned debate where everyone can present their side.

But someone please tell me, how does one keep their civility when children are taken away from their mothers and kept in prisons. How does one have a reasoned debate with barbarism? I know I can't.

I can't watch and hear children crying for their mothers in the dark of the night and be calm.

I want to give our Democratic leaders credit where credit is due.

I have been a critic of their leadership up until this current crisis, but our Democratic leaders have responded in a way that gives me some hope about the future of this nation.

Thank you Dems for being there for those children. The only way to save these children and re-unite the families is to take back congress this year!
